RKD's ROTJ gauntlets converted to ESB (very pic heavy)

Just a quick post…

I got the skinnier parts of the upper nozzle mostly done. Part of it will need to be sanded into a cone shape. If anybody out there knows an easy source for cones, it would be much appreciated! I'll get to the big thick part in the middle of the nozzle later. Cheers!

A quick pic-free update. To make the cones and thick piece on the top flamethrower tube, I am currently learning to use a lathe. I've just finished casting a couple resin blanks to turn into shape using some ABS pipe. Hopefully later this week, I'll have these parts ready.

Time to resurrect this necro- thread by Necro-naut!! :p
I left this project to start painting up a couple ESB helmets, which I then left to build a Clonetrooper costume. You'll find finished pics in the Star Wars Costumes thread. I think that the only thing that gets me to finish a project is a deadline. Well, my deadline for this project just came up...

Here in Edmonton, the closest this town gets to Dragon-Con levels of costumes (aside from the Comic Expo) is the Halloween Howler. It's a concert and costume party, this year featuring The Headstones (classic Canadian hard rock) with Steel Panther... who should be entertaining to say the least! To finish this project, I've decided to wear my Fett costume. Now, they have some pretty strict costume and prop guidelines for everyone's safety: no metal, no weapons, no wood. Only plastic and foam. That will rule out my current gauntlets and EE-3.

I just revisited how how much I have finished, and how far I have to go. I am surprised how far I got on the flamethrower! For this party, I think it's ready to paint and assemble (I'll have a nice aluminum one in the mail shortly, thanks to CombabBaby winning against his illness). The resin calc pad, dental expander, gauntlet rocket, whipcord launcher body, and black tube thingy on the right hand gauntlet are all in primer right now. I'll have to leave off my Mojo gauntlet darts and use old-school Bic pen tips, just like in the OLD days!

Tonight here at home, I'll start on the gauntlet bodies by putting some nice return edges on the gauntlet ends. More to follow...
