RKD vs MoW Gauntlets

So I'm starting my Boba build in a weeks. Since I need to wait to start the helmet, thought I'd start with the armor. A buddy in my garrison is doing all the painting for me since my experience with painting is not at the level that is required for Boba.

My question is-

RKD or MoW Gauntlets? I'm doing ESB so the gauntlets with that intricate flamethrower. I know MoW's come unassembled which makes it easier to paint but could I possibly upgrade later and it still look right and be okay? There's like a $200 price difference..

Thanks for any help!

I believe RKD's gauntlets are initially an unassembled kit as well. I don't know much about RKD's gauntlets other than that.

I have a pair of MoW gauntlets myself. Haven't had time to put them together but I am very happy with how detailed they look. They also appear very sturdy as well though I am still going to reinforce them still. But RKD makes really good armor (everything else I got armor wise is from him except the helmet and jetpack). I don't think you can go wrong with either or though.

I've owned both. Currently own MOW and am happy with them. Both are high quality items. Like F4R mentioned, at this time, RKD are ROTJ. You would have to acquire the flame thrower elsewhere which is not an easy task. Most Gaunt makers that have them dont sell the Flame units separately.

RKD is Heavy ABS nice and study and can probably take a beating. Downside to those (IMO) is the detail is a little soft and some of the details are slightly off. Nothing major. Still a great set, especially for the price.

MOW is resin, and should be reinforced with Fiberglass. They are a little more fragile than the ABS, but still very sturdy. The detail however is excellent and closer to screen accurate. You also have the option of ESB or ROTJ. MOW has an excellent flamethower unit that comes with the set. Great set, good price, but significantly more expensive than the RKD.

Both need to be fully trimmed and assembled.

Hope that helps you decide.
