Request assistance on Supertrooper uzi-blaster side pieces

Title says it all. I know the left side piece has a Mitchell arm piece at the front -- the same as the cone knee-dart. I know the inside piece is the handle part of the Paterson stirrer. I have no idea what the housing is, except that it was originally yellow, and designed to interlock with others like it, from the "rails" on the top and bottom.

I know the rigth side piece is a bit of sheet plastic with labels and such, but the round bit at the end looks like it might be another Mitchell piece, and the three things sticking out at the mid-point seem to be electical components of some kind.

Andy, I hope you don't mind me using your pictures to show what I'm talking about. And anyone, your insights are greatly appreciated...

Oh yeah I remember these pics. Interesting. I am on a Super Trooper project as well. That right piece is odd for sure. I have been staring at it and I can't for the life of me figure out what that could be from. But, I don't know much about this weapon myself. Thanks for posting, hopefully someone will chime in with an I.D.

well, the yellow pieces look like fuse relays to me.

And an elevator bolt on the side there too.

As for the other piece...not to sure. Still lookin into it...the fact that it seems to have a Picatinny rail dovetail mount is rather odd...so I'm thinking it something that connects to something, at first glance I thought it was one of the tripod feet from a Model Rocket launch pad.

Hm... More photo-processing gear. I'll wander the Paterson catalogue and see what I find. Gilmore, what made you then think it wasn't a tripod foot?

Off to dig into fuse relays, too...

And I think the round piece on that side plate is another Mitchell arm piece... I need someone more familiar wiht those to confirm or deny (Mojo?).

THanks for the insights. Keep 'em coming. :)

well, it was just the first thing that side piece reminded me of...

the legs slide in, and the one i had when i was a kid didnt have a funky design, it was just a triangle with a dove tail piece that slid and locked in to the base....

I've had a quick chat with Mojo the other day,he's going to have a look at the pictures but he's a little busy at the moment.

It's known that the michell sweep arm "dust bug " pedistal with the thick base and short pillar is used in the Graflex muzzle(as opposed to the thin base tall pillar type used as the jet pack stabilizer).

The round part ,on the aluminium plate over the pistol grip on the right side of the blaster, looks to be either the same thick base pedistal used in the Graflex. Only the knurled collet removed from the end and the thick base has been turned down to the thin base dimensions,or the thick base passes through the aluminium plate and into the plastic model Uzi.

Another possibility is that its the third type of sweep arm pedistal that has a thin base and a short pillar, again with the knurld collet removed.

See found parts in the wiki.

Thanks, FMF -- I'd forgotten about that third pedestal, but I knew it looked Mitchell-y. I think it's far more likely planted-on than set-in. So that would make the thin-base-short-pillar Mitchell bit the leading contender in my eyes.

Still asking everyone else I can find out here about the other two pieces, especially older engineers and contractors I know who were active thirty years ago. Also going to cross-post to the RPF, I think...

As I mentioned on the RPF the side piece is not from a Michell sweep arm.
It's way too small.

It is simple enough to duplicate with a threaded aluminum spacer and washer (although the real thing is a single piece).
I just held this prop a few days ago.
The Uzi is fiberglass/resin and there are no identifying markings on it. It could be a prop gun Bapty already had on hand.
The orange side piece is an odd plastic, feels brittle and with the rough texture it almost feels like wood.

Like bakelite, perhaps?

And thanks again, Chris. :)

I'm using an airsoft Uzi. Crisper detail and the stock actually folds. I can fudge most of the right side piece, and I still had the handle from my Paterson stirrer. I'm scratch-building a replica Graflex for the barrel. And I know where I'm going to get the Mitchell bits for the muzzle and left side piece. That housing piece is the biggest sticking point for me. :(
