    Replicating rust with paint?

I've repainted my ROTJ EE3, and the "rust" just looks like orangish splotches... It's not convincing as rust at all. I've tried both a dry brush technique, and cloth/sponge. I'm using testers model paint, rust color.

I'd appreciate any suggestions from the great painters in here!

You may want to try the cheap acrylic paint folk art Terra Cotta and use a dry brush technique.

    that

i use some dry brushing and some less elegant work. i'll paint on some acrylic loosely with a brush, soak a paper towel in windex, then daub it around so that the paint partially wipes off.

The wear and tear of rust is a sought-after design element but the natural rusting process can be lengthy. kleinkinder faschingskostüme

I used this colour: Scorched Brown | Games Workshop.

I was first splattering the helmet with it. And then where the splatters were a bit much, I used a sponge and spread it around a bit then dabbed it. Sounds pretty standard, but I found it worked so well, because it's so dulled down on the green, but it looks perfect!

PVA glue and cinnamon dust works wonders for rust, and is easily come by at this time of year. We used them in our Ghostbusters Proton packs, and no worries there...
