Hey guys,
Since I have some time on my hands (slow day at work) I thought I'd take this opportunity to show you some of my work on my Fett and get some critique.

Quick intro:
I've been skulking round TDH forums for a while now having previously come over from the 405th Halo costuming forums where I had been a member for a few years and spent that time making this:

Unfortunately at the beginning of last year I lost my job so had to let it go to raise funds.
Since July of '10 I have been working again and hence had a costuming itch that needed scratching. I felt I was done with Halo related things and had always loved Boba Fett since I first saw ESB when I was a lad. So here I am, pestering you guys. (y)

So after some (a lot of) help from the awesome community here this is what I've got so far:

To start off with things that are all other peoples amazing work is the BM helmet and BobbyFettUK JP

Both these guys have been a pleasure to deal with and their work is outstanding.

Next up is a 99cent taco man ESB belt and MOW 2010 ESB gaunts with MojoFett rocket.

MOW boots with MojoFett toe spikes (not pictured)

I'm not sure I'm happy with my paint job on the boots. What do you think? A little darker maybe?

I've just finished up painting my MojoFett sidearm and MOW flame thrower but I'm thinking I've maybe over weathered them. It's my first go at painting with an airbrush so the finished product is a bit sketchy.

Also a while back I picked up a cape from someone on eBay which I think is actually an Evo beasty which IMO is too dark so after some bleaching and misting of orange and black rattle cans it went from this

To this...

That's it for now really.

Just wanna take this chance to thank Daz (BM), BobbyFettUK, MojoFett, Fettdad, MOW, SalamandaKing and Welshwarrior123 for all your help so far. Great guys.

Comments, critique, things I have missed are most welcome.

Cheers,
-Red.

You've got some nice looking gear... and great quality too! Can't wait to see you make this into an ESB Fett. Good luck!

nice stuff there, the weathering looks good on the cape...thing with the ESB in the movie it was very clean looking so I dunno how dirty the side arm would be but If you keep the stuff dirty keep the rest dirty as well just enough to keep continuity with what you have now. I like a dirty Fett

Thanks Fett 4 Real. I couldn't agree more. For example, I know strictly speaking the sidearm should be gloss and clean but while I want to be accurate to what was on-screen I also want to reflect what it would look like if it was 'in-universe', ie well used and grubby. But yeah i like a dirty Fett too.

Coming along nicely mate
I told you Robs JP's were good, only problem is though its not got the correct colours.......It should be yellow, blue and white
Seriously though buddy looking really good, the side arm looks awesome. Im with F4F on the dirty fett, and the BM lid, well (y)

Looking forward to those gauntlet paint up.

Think I'll pass on the 'Boba Fett and his technicolour dream pack' thanks Welsh. ;P
That being said your paintup of one of Robs jp's was outstanding.
I plan on getting the gaunts ready for painting this weekend so I should hopefully have them finished come the end of next week. Need to get some practise in first with the airbrush. I'm usually a rattle can man.

Great stuff indeed :) This would turn out to be another top-notch ESB fett ...

Thanks for the kind words guys.
Got a small update. Been working, slowly, on painting the gaunts. The weather hasn't been great and I had a few mess ups and redo's to do so it slowed me down.
Got the left gaunt almost done, right ones on it's way but I'll just show you the left for now.
Now, be kind to me, it's my first go at painting with an airbrush.

Nice job. I especially like the work on the cape. You can use fine steel wool to blend the dirt/grime in (gaunts). Just go real light with it.

The shading on the gaunts look good. Looking forward to more progress pics.

Right, so finally I've managed to get round to posting an update. Pretty much got everything I need to finish Mr. Fett off, just need to paint and assemble. Hope to be finished mid-late sept in time for a Con in London in Oct.

Been spending some time working on accuracy whilst I was waiting for my final parts to arrive. For example I decided the cape wasn't working too well so I bought another from Woody. I also have drilled some holes in the jp rocket (thanks to Fett 4 Real for pointing that out in one of his threads), added a white dot to the jp and added the correct ESB scratches to the helmet (as seen in SpidyFetts thread) among other things.

Can't wait to get finished, getting close now.

Cheers guys,

-Carl.

PS: thanks again to Chris and Rob for sorting me out with some armour.
