nice stuff there, the weathering looks good on the cape...thing with the ESB in the movie it was very clean looking so I dunno how dirty the side arm would be but If you keep the stuff dirty keep the rest dirty as well just enough to keep continuity with what you have now. I like a dirty Fett

Thanks Fett 4 Real. I couldn't agree more. For example, I know strictly speaking the sidearm should be gloss and clean but while I want to be accurate to what was on-screen I also want to reflect what it would look like if it was 'in-universe', ie well used and grubby. But yeah i like a dirty Fett too.

That being said your paintup of one of Robs jp's was outstanding.
I plan on getting the gaunts ready for painting this weekend so I should hopefully have them finished come the end of next week. Need to get some practise in first with the airbrush. I'm usually a rattle can man.

Got a small update. Been working, slowly, on painting the gaunts. The weather hasn't been great and I had a few mess ups and redo's to do so it slowed me down.
Got the left gaunt almost done, right ones on it's way but I'll just show you the left for now.
Now, be kind to me, it's my first go at painting with an airbrush.

I think it looks good.

Nice job. I especially like the work on the cape. You can use fine steel wool to blend the dirt/grime in (gaunts). Just go real light with it.

The shading on the gaunts look good. Looking forward to more progress pics.

Right, so finally I've managed to get round to posting an update. Pretty much got everything I need to finish Mr. Fett off, just need to paint and assemble. Hope to be finished mid-late sept in time for a Con in London in Oct.



Been spending some time working on accuracy whilst I was waiting for my final parts to arrive. For example I decided the cape wasn't working too well so I bought another from Woody. I also have drilled some holes in the jp rocket (thanks to Fett 4 Real for pointing that out in one of his threads), added a white dot to the jp and added the correct ESB scratches to the helmet (as seen in SpidyFetts thread) among other things.

Can't wait to get finished, getting close now.

Funny, you(I) always look back at the pictures and notice things that need changing, the hanging down/loose driver buckle for one thing. Ah, Fett is never done.

Awesome ESB suit! I love that Cloud City hallway look and the one with the rock/hip-hop pose.

Just one thing that is not ESB specific on your suit: that jetpack adjustment tool, instead use a steel tube or something similar for accuracy.

Right, so darken pouches/boots and steel pipe. No probs. I've also noticed that the wire that goes to the chest lights was hanging out the bottom of the vest. Will get that sorted out.

Some details must be finished ( flightsuit looks like it sticks inside the boot and maybe you should but more material into your upper pockets )
but your weathering and paintjob are great and the rest is just awesome !

Yeah I noticed that too. I think it's because I did the ankle ties up before putting the boot on. Will correct that.

Right so, back again.
Thanks again for all the advise. So far I've changed the shin tool for a steel pipe, fixed the chest lights, added some more stuffing to the pouches and darkened the boots and pouches although maybe not enough. It looked fine to the eye but the camera has bleached it out a little.

Yeah! It's way better than before. I really like the changes you made, and that steel pipe is spot on. Real ESB suit!

I'm nearly done with mine too! Just need some stuff to hurry up and arrive in the post. But this has pointed out some little touches I have forgotten such as toe spikes which I'll be making from scratch.

Just to add some constructive criticism, I think your jetpack could use a little more weathering, particularly the missile.

YES! Your one of the few people to make the connection. Sadly I believe my anime taste is of an older generation now.
