Received my bobamaker vest and jumpsuit! Awesome!! ;)

First of all, bobamaker is a great, personable, and professional guy to deal with. He replied to my emails promptly and was always friendly. I like that in a seller.

He worked with me to achieve a slightly blue but not too blue colour for my ESB Fett display, and he nailed it. It's exactly what I wanted. (The picture below is not an accurate representation of the colour.)

The jumpsuit is excellent, but the vest is just superb -- it's all padded like. I couldn't be happier. I gave him the measurements of my mannequin (which are close to my own) and they both fit perfectly.

Here it is on my pathetic mannequin (forgive the pose -- this is very much a work in progress) with the weathering he did along with some additional weathering of my own:

I'll take better pictures on the weekend in daylight if anyone wants.

The only small issue I had was that the leg cuffs aren't fitted as they are for the ESB version (I used safety pins for the time being). bobamaker is sending me some strips of the material to make some closure straps for this purpose.

I just wanted to add that I love the fact that the "neck seal" is part of the vest. Not only because I believe this is more accurate, but I couldn't imagine having to deal with a separate piece to this. There's too damn many components to this costume as it is.

Anyway, whether they're welcome or not, I'll get some more pictures out this weekend.

The neck is attached to the jumpsuit; it's a not aseparate piece. There are several photos that show the attachment on the jumpsuit, including the tour photos.

I can post them later tonight.

Believe me, you're, like, the last guy I would argue with around here so I'm not arguing. I'm just explaining that my assumption was based on this image:

It looks like the neck is the same material as the vest, and that there's a bit of blue underneath from the collar of the jumpsuit. Guess not. Hmm. Since I can't sew and these are still really nice pieces in my opinion, I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it.

Anyway, yes. Please post pix. Not because I don't believe you. I just like looking at pictures is all.

Hey no prob! I never have a problem backing up statements! None of us put the originals together ( at least I think so

), so we're all just making the most educated guess we can based off reference.

Anyway, I found one pic of the Prepro 1 costume from Chronicles that I had posted in another thread. I also had a pic of the ROTJ tour suit and an ESB still showing it, but those pics are broken. I'll have get home to see if I which pics I used.

I like to think that whenever I'm wrong, at least I am wrong for a reason.

Still, I only wish there were more quality ESB reference photos. No wonder so many guys decide to do a ROTJ Fett.

Anyway, yeah, I guess my two options are to:

a) remove the neck from the vest and sew it on the jumpsuit

or

b) leave well enough alone.

I think in the grand scheme of what I am hoping to accomplish I can probably live with it as is. (Did I mention I can't sew?)

The neckseal is definitely separate on the screen-used items, I originally joined mine to the jacket for ease of dressing. My own Jacket has a separate neckseal for accuracy.

If you want to post the jacket back to me I will send you another one with the neckseal separate, no problem... there's no point in "having to live with it".

Let me know and I'll have the new one ready for when your's arrives. I can also lessen the weathering if you wish.

Daz, you're pure class man!

But you know what? I've just had a little reality check here and I'm 100% happy with what I have now. I mean, slap some collar armor over top of that bad boy and nobody's gonna know where the neckseal starts and anything else ends. Really. At the end of the day it's hardly worth anyone's bother over what amounts to a niggling little detail (in my opinion).

This thread only proves to me what I already knew: That you're a great guy to deal with.

I got the leg cuff straps from bobamaker today -- they came with the edges sewn and with Velcro sewn to the ends as well--I just have to weather them a little more and sew them to they jumpsuit and I'll be in business. I mean, I was expecting just a couple of loose strips of material so I'm pretty happy with these.

I've started sculpting the top and part of the rear so far. I am working on the dent and key slots at present, whilst sculpting knees, building armor, molding shin tools.... pretty busy!

The helmet plans I've drawn will make the finished helmet ever-so-slightly bigger than the mystery (mainly wider) and a slightly different side profile. I hope to get the slightly crooked t-visor slot as seen on the original bucket...we'll see.

I will try and post a few pics in the coming weeks in the helmet section once the helmet starts to like like a helmet.

Also, since the vest opens/closes in the back and the neckseal opens/closes in the front, in both the ESB and RotJ versions, it would have been almost impossible for the two to be attached.
