Quick question for someone who used the templates

For those of you who have printed out and used the templates to make your armor, I have a small favor to ask of you. I don't really have a printer to use right now, and I'm a fair bit certain the computer lab administration would be ticked if I printed out sheets of paper armor.

I was just curious, what would you say the surface area of all the chest armor, back plate and shoulderpads be? It occured to me that because of my contacts in my old high school's robotics team I could get aluminum or even steel sheets for pretty cheap. I wanted to calculate how much that would weigh. Its probably going to be a fair bit, but I'm kind of ok with that. If anything, it'll get me to work out more.

It will also help me determine cost. I know it'll be more expensive than sintra or trash cans, but you can't argue with the cool factor of steel

Thanks everyone!

Yep! You can't deny the feel of Aluminum or Steel. But I guess you're looking at an area of 1.5 to 2m sq for the chest armour, back and shoulders. 2m sq should see you right for the knees and groin too if you're feeling really industrious.
Good luck in tackling this :)
