    Question about Wookie scalps

Each day I learn a little bit more about this costume but new questions always arise. Today I saw 2 different versions of Wookie braids and was wondering which version is correct. The first was 3 braids blond, black, and brown with a braid on each end making 6 separate ends while the second version had 3 braids blond, black and brown but each end was braided together to form 3 separate ends and in turn creating a loop that would have to be fed up the sleeve. I hope this description is clear enough to garnish a response. Which is the correct version. Btw I looked in the gallery but couldn't find a definitive shot to answer my question. Thanks in advance for your help.

There are different versions for all the versions of Fett except the Supertrooper which has none. What version Fett are you talking about exactly?

The first one would be the Pre Pro #3/ESB version:

The second one is the Pre-Pro #1/ROTJ version:

PP3 has 5 tails, the black is looped and has a short brown braid and long grey braid attached to it. The blonde is open on both ends. The ESB is blonde, grey open on both ends and a black loop with a tail for 5 tails.

PP1 and ROTJ are the same setup. If you could post the pictures you're looking at that would help as well.

Technically these are the same braids, but with different setup(s):

The black PP3 braid has an extra attached brown tassel end and the silver is only has one end on the PP3 set and is attached to the black braid also. The silver is double ended on the ESB set. The blonde is the same though. They are likley the same braids but modified like you said. I've poured over pics of braids for years I really wish there were a few better photos of the PP2 and PP3 sets.

I guess I should have specified that I'm doing either ROTJ or special edition ROTJ. Since I love the Empire helmet I'm leaning towards SE. As far as photos it was an auction on eBay that I was looking at and the seller was selling 2 different versions of the braids. One version had the 3 braids with each end tied with beads and it would just drape over the shoulder while the 2nd version had the ends braided to each other with no beads and they would slide up the arm and then rest on the shoulder. I believe both versions were blond/tan, black and white.

I make all the dif sets of accurate braids if you're looking for them on ebay you'll end up with something that is far from accurate. The SE set is completely different from the ROTJ set. PM sent

I was at the Star Wars Identities exhibit here in Edmonton today, and I think the Fett costume (Bulloch's ROTJ/SE) had blond, brown, and black braids. It also had some sort of black side-braid coming off the main black braid with a bunch of red beads and thread tying it together. Looking at my brand-new FettHunter braids, I wonder if I need to modify them somehow...
Pretty cool exhibit, but the only costumes (such as our boy Fett) I wanted to really see up close were behind glass. All the Jedi/Sith, Padme, and Vader costumes were in open air.

That would be the Pre-Pro #3/ESB Hero braid in a poor state. And the glass is because they want to protect the already damaged helmet and other parts too. And possibly because of some too dare fanatic TDH members in the past...

I've never seen any red beads on any of the sets? Post some pics if you have them.

    LOL!
I did take a bunch of pics, but the glass caused a 'double' image on all my pics. They are no good at all.
