Pleated Belt detail on the flightsuit?

I know it has been considered a "given" to have a pleated detail on the belt area of the Boba Flightsuit. I have yet to see a good screen cap or other picture of this. I have not seen a pic to show me that this detail is visible after the entire costume is on.

How important is it to everyone to have this belt detail? Is it crucial?
And I would greatly appreciate some pics to show this is screen accurate for Boba ROTJ and Boba ESB versions.

    Thanks in advance!

Debbi... I don't really know where this detail has come from?
whether it was some form of early artistic license that we have all come to expect on the front of our Fett jumpsuits.. But I cannot find nor do I have 'any' ref pics with that detail.

I'm sure if I am wrong that someone will chime in... 3...2...1...

the only place i've ever seen that detail is the kotobukiya ESB fett statue. i didn't bother with it on my suit.

    Thanks you two!

That is what I think also, and if it is not needed, then I think it is one more layer to make the costume more hot to wear and more bulky. I hope more people will chime in!!

I have a SGB suit...and i may remove the detail, it just seams to get in the way.

I do not see several pleats, there is one seam that looks kinda like a pleat, but it is not. Here are 2 pics brought to my attention by another TDH member

on my suit, that seam is just where i joined the top and bottom halves. i used to have the pleat on my old suit (also an SGB). i think it looks neat, but like you said, i've never seen it in any pictures.

Thank you! I am glad I am not the only one who has wondered this same thing. I have never seen the pleated belt thingy in any reference photos, and have no idea where it originally came from or why I see it on jumpsuits. I took it off my SGB suit too.

The best shot of the jumpsuit alone would be the old black and white pre-production costume laying on the ground. No pleated belt.

I am planning to change this detail on any further suits that we sew. I will post in on our FS thread.

Thank you all for the input!
