    Apr 14, 2008, 8:29 PM - Ok, about US Medium Green #1

I may finally be coming around to repainting my armor correct color. Now I did a forum search but didn't get a straight answer. US Medium green is the name of it? Or is it a Medium Green in the US? The only thing I found in the forum search was this http://www.testors.com/catalog_item.asp?itemNbr=322 is that what I am gonna want or is it gonna be named Medium Green.

I found a spray of a Medium green, I will add a pic, but the pic really is iffy...

The Floquil/Polly Scale color you linked to is the one you want. The name of the color is "US Medium Green."
Testors Model Master Medium Green isn't the right shade.

Us medium green is a FS color so it should be correct across the board but as you can see it isn't unfortunately. Might try US dark green in testors may work better give it a shot just remember the color will be lighter out of the bottle and then weathering it changes it drastically.

I used the US MED Green in your link
That's what I used for JB's Jet Pack, so I guess it's good.
I think I also used that for my ROTJ armour, but I don't know for sure now

Slave1. You used US med green on the JP????? WOW, quite a difference in weathering then, as they said that they used US med green on the armour as well...yet there is a drastic difference between the two color-wise!! Definately interesting!! Just goes to show how much difference weathering can make!!!!!

Believe me, the Floquil US Med Green is not the same as Testors Med Green.
As Lee mentioned above, it is a Fed Std color, so you'd think different manufacturers would keep the color consistent, but I tried the Testors Med Green and it really lacks the slightly bluish base that the US Med Green has.
Just doesn't look right to me.

Yeah, those colors look really different in tone. Slave1 was the same color used on both jet pack and armor?

Well, as long as that Floquil US Med Green is proper for ESB armor, than I guess I will be set. My jet pack looks good, I just think it is time to color the armor properly. I am currently sitting on a Hunter Green Satin. Would I have to do extra weathering on the armor to get the right color or is that you weathered the Jet Pack a lighter color?

Plus I looked at that spray I got yesterday and it didn't look too bad. But I may have to try and take better pics.

Don't be fooled by the name like I was! Polly Scale US Med Green is numbered A/N 612 and Testors Med Green is FS 34102. Totally different colors with similar names. I have yet to find US Med Green in enamel by any maker. That color may or may not have been used in ESB, I don't think we'll ever know for sure.

Nate...I think when we talked about how you were going to paint the JB Jet Pack that we went with PANZER OLIVE GREEN as the base..... maybe even a Panzer Olive Grun (enamel) ..not US Medium green.
The base for JB's armor is US Medium Green...and in that picture you can really see the difference.

and "U S Medium Green" as Boba Phat said, does not come in Enamel....

One other question, would it not be a good idea to paint right over the huntergreen that I have on their now? If it helps any for info on it, it is a Krylon Hunter Green Satin spray paint. I am just trying to find the easiest way to paint it. Whether it comes down to needing to sand off the old paint and repaint it or what.

Since we are on this subject and I can't find the other thread, what is the yellowish color that is used on the ESB armor thats on the weathered parts?

    According to this thread...

    http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showt...ghlight=colors

Zinc Chromate or Yellow chromate is what I read. I know Reffer Yellow is for the shoulders and knees, but don't think it is for the damage

I would recommend some light sanding first.... nothing too rough...

Ok, just enough to take off a little paint but still keeping a fine layer of it? I just don't want to run into where the paint starts cracking. Like when you mix 2 different brands of Spray paint. But if it is airbrushing on, I don't see that happening.
