I made some from canvas and used RIT dye, they shrunk way too much from the hot water.

That is why your supposed to wash and preshrink any material, especially cotton material, before you make something so that shrinking dosn't happen!! ;)

The pouchs look great!!

yup, I have a feeling I will be preshrinking THEN dying at some point. I was kinda of hasty and wanted to see how this fabric would behave. Hopefully it won't shrink that much !

Thanks for the compliments guys ! I will hit the tea thing tonight !

Great job,and remember, you can do the tea soak more than once if the first time is too light a color.
They look really good,well done!

New TK409 Hip Pouches *PICS*

My other sister (they're so talented :) ) now makes the hip pouches. The pouches are made from 100% cotton (same thickness as khaki pants) and they come in several colors. I've included a photo below for reference and it would be up to you to weather them the way you'd like. Comes with a velcro closure. These also work for Biker Scouts and Snow Troopers. She sells the pouches for $39 shipped per pair. PM me for details.

WOW! Great pouches and great price!

What color do you recommend for a ROTJ or Magic of Myth/Special Edition Fett?

Chris, are these 100% cotton or a blend? The reason I ask is that if they are darker than expected, !00% can be lightened with bleach whereas blends (generally) can't. Also, 100% is much either to weather and age via the washing machine.

Here is a good reference shot of the RotJ pouches for color comparison. I'd say that either the khaki or lt. khaki are the closest match.

I have to say that those are about the closest I have seen them come to the original!
