Just a quick update........
Took my first look through the box of leather......WOW just WOW. In all my years of working with thin weight calf skin leather I have never gotten any like this! Normally calf skin is very smooth, which is good but the stuff I got in has a light grain on the surface. It is what gives leather its look and feel most of the time you see it. Lets just say that when the run is over, I'm gonna redo my own belt! So for those of you who are on this list, your in for a real treat.

Update: I just got back from Tandys to pic up more supplies for the run of belts. One of the new things I learned recently is that the prices did go way up on alot of things in the store...almost everything. But I want to keep the prices the same as the last run which they will. Owen who is the manager here, always gets the inside info on price changes. I will post a pic of what I'm talking about in a minute and show you what I mean. This means that this might be the last time I do ammo belts at the price I'm currently offering. Theres no way for me to tell what may change and by how much. I can only tell you so far that I just paid $10 more on a quart of dye, $75 more on a box of scrap leather. After looking at my receipt and comparing it to last years, I just spent about $140 more than last time, and theres still a few more things I need. So if you really need a belt just get with me. I will continue to do belts till I'm completey done with the run. Thanks..

Hey Eric, If you can't find a piece in your area let me know what ounce your looking for how big you need it. I have been noticing really big pieces in this box. If I got one big enough I just send you one if you need it.

Belts are actually in production already, first 5 or 6 will go out monday, your belt stornshadow was already done but wanted you to get the nicer looking leather as well so I'm redoing another for ya. I'll give pics shortly.

Heres two quick pics of the first batch thats drying. You can see the flaps are two different shades of brown. The light browns are ROTJ's. The other pics are the box covers drying. I also have ROTJ box covers drying as well that are not pictured. The first 5 belts or so will go out monday morning.
Will this be the esb belts going out on monday taco like mine ??

Quick update - Some Belts went out and some belts got done after mail man already went by. Should have had more done by now but I've got a little delay. I knocked over some black dye off my table and is splashed on most of the belt straps. I have to go to Tandys in the morning and get one more hide and redo the belts. Its should only be a one day delay. Thanks everybody. Also there have been quite a bit of drop outs on the list, with a couple of add ins. Some of you have informed me about dropping out, for those who have not informed me yet, please do so this week. Thanks again.

Yes your belt will go out tomorrow morning. Your belt strap did not get in the dye splash zone...
Belts are going quickly, normally I have only had time to do about 3 a week but I've had no distractions lately.

I knocked over some black dye off my table and is splashed on most of the belt straps.
It says mine is ready for shipping. Looks like I survived the dye splash zone too.

Quick true story - I was in downtown San Antonio near the Alamo and there was a cow there for some show. I got near it to pet it. (honestly I was thinking she was going to make a great cowhide rug one day) She turned, got one look at me and MOOOOO'ED and ran! No one really knows why but maybe she smelled death from me...lol

Got some more belts out and some more ready to go out, I hope to finish at least two more by tomorrow. I'm gonna make a push for the remaining belts to be done by this weekend. As long as I don't get anymore distractions.
Belts are coming out great! Everytime I finish one I feel like the Michelin Man, I hug it good by..lol.

Taco, I received my belt and it's astounding!!
I was showing it to my cousin who happened to be here and while I'm talking i lift the flap to unsnap it ( forgetting that it doesn't quite work that way) and wind up standing there like a little kid who broke their new toy!! A little hot glue seemed to do the trick, but, alas, could not mend my broken ego after being such a fool...

You may wanna try super glue gel, it works very well, just hold for a few seconds and you should be good.
Things should go alittle faster now that I got my new clicker die in for the pouch covers. Think of it as a heavy duty cookie cutter.... no more cutting by hand! :cheering

Hey Taco, got the belt today! It is FANTASTIC! Your cape is done and could have been sent out Saturday, but if everything goes to plan, I have a photo shoot lined up for tonight to take some really good product pics.
Sorry about the delay and lack of updates guys. Im having to redo lots of belt straps due to bad leather. After dying the leather it lightened up way too much and would not take the dye correctly so I had to return it being that it was bad and wait for more to come in. I'll have more updates soon
Just want to give a quick update. I got the new leather in and will start redoing the belts. It has really gotten tight with time since there was a big mix up at this years San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. I was asked to do a show on opening day. They set up a large tent and sold tickets to the public and they watched me make ranger belts and some wallets and purses, and etc throughout the day which I had a mic on me telling everyone what I was using and how I did them, each time I finished one they would call out a number and the lucky person with that seat number won the item I made. It was suppose to be a one day thing but some one sold tickets for the whole week, and some. They expect me to come back everyday till this coming saturday and then didn't want to pay me extra. I told them thats not my fault, if they want me back they have to pay the same fee everyday. I knew they were going to have to pay me since they already pre-sold tickets. And the shows are an hour and half long with 100 people in each show, doing 5 shows a day. Tickets were $10 each. They are making out with $5000 a day times 10 days....yeah ...they can afford to pay me...lol. But not to worry guys I'm taking my fett leather stuff out there and working on your belts between shows.
Beautiful belts Taco:thumbup, I have heard nothing but praises about your quality and craftsmanship. If it's not to late I would love to get ROTJ belt from you. If possible, I know you have alot on your plate,but if ya can fit me in I would greatly appreciate it. :D

What is the best way to adhere the the ammo pockets to the belt?
You don't glue the pouches, you need to slide the belt strap through the back of the pouches.
I glued velcro on the inside of the ammo boxes with goop. Then I attached the other side of the velcro to the pouches. It is very secure, especially when you cinch the belt up.

this thing fits like a glove.
the closure was the exact length it needed to be and this thing sits on me perfectly
i couldn't be happier with the belt
this is insane. i wish every prop acquisition i've ever had would have been as smooth. not only is the quality of the prop perfect, he's one of the easiest guys to deal with. i didn't know if i'd be able to pick one of these things up immediately but he PMed me and we worked something out.
taco is pretty much the guy to go to if you need a belt or leather work. top notch!

Jodo belt it is a boba ESb but a grey color. It is a comic book pic so I would say any grey would work.
