Where did all you guys get the wiper blades for you rifles? I haven't been able to find any that match for my ROTJ rifle.

You can find replacement blades and wipers in the automotive section of wal-mart. Usually run $2-3 each.

Which brand or style best fit the gun?

seemed like the cheapest ones there did the trick just fine. Of course I'm talking about using them for an e-11 trooper rifle. If we're talking for fett I don't know. The wiper blades should be relatively universal and work equally well.

Can someone who used wiper blades post some pics of their gun? All the ones I have seen look a little small and I am curious how they look on the blaster. Thanks!

***I got my ribs off a prop dealer and think they look great, just curious how the wipper method compairs, I haven't found any wipers the same size.

I have read that the blade are possible off a British tank or armored vehicle. I don't know which or if that info is correct.

I thought it was documented that the wiper blades on the ROTJ Fett blaster are the same as the wiper blades used on several of the earlier lightsabers, and that they are wiper blades for an Austin Mini.

If so, with the resurgence of the Mini's popularity it seems like it would be easy to locate a auto parts dealer that speacializes in Minis (in the U.S. or abroad) that sells OEM wiper blades. They would be more than the generic ones at WalMart, but then again, they'd be *correct*. Just depends on how obsessed/anal you are about that sort of thing. ;)

Do you know what year Austin Mini it was?

Well, it would most likely be in the 1968-1976 range of Minis, but it's not critical since all of the Mini/Mini Cooper parts from those years are interchangeable (kind of like the old VW Beetles).

Most likely, you're looking for Anco wiper blade refills, Part # 12-12. These are replacement blades for the Minis.

Try searching for wiper refills for a 1968 Austin Mini Cooper here:

Good luck! :)

Guys those modern blades will not be correct, you need lightsaber grip material. In fact I used close ups of the ROTJ Fett frifle to help me craft the profile for my recent extrusion of grip. Does anyone know how many feet of grip would be needed for the rifle? Or even how many grips and what length they should be? I can offer them cut to size then and backed with adhesive

I can put together a special deal for TDH if somone can get me the info.

If I remember correctly, the RotJ blaster uses eight feet of it.

Cool, any idea of the quantity and size breakdown?

8' is right. There are 12 - 8" pieces minus the cutout. I have a pattern at the house and can post it when I get home.

Here is the pattern I came up with.

Cool! I can offer up pre cut sets of grip to whomever wants them now....the price should be $40 shipped per set with adhesive VHB tabe on the back.

Or if anyone just wants a length long enough to cut their own it will be $32 shipped for the 8 feet.

Ok, after months of reading posts and looking at some of the great pics out there I have decided two things:

1.) I am going to make a Boba Fett ROTJ complete costume.

2.) I am going to scratch build a blaster. (From what I have read the Spidey Blasters are all "consumed" and there won't be more made. AND I can't affor some of the prices people are asking for the ones being sold on EBAY.

Now here come the questions:

1.)Does anyone posses accurate dimensions of the ROTJ blaster? If so, could they foreward them to me?
2.)It appears from the pics I have seen that in ROTJ Fett does not have the back-up blaster/sidearm that is seen in ESB. IS this true?

Thanks in advance to you all.
Darren

Not sure on the dimensions but it is true he does not have a back-up side arm in ROTJ. Good choice in choosing the best Fett and good luck.

I don't have dimensions, but I can give you an idea of what I used to make mine:
1. Crossman Air pistol from Wal-Mart; removed the barrel housing, and used JBWeld epoxy to secure it into...

2. 2" PVC pipe.

3. Evergreen #189 plastic ribs, found at HobbyTownUSA.

4. I cut the middle section out of a cheap auto funnel for the barrel tip.

5. $8 rifle scope from Wal-Mart, JB Weld-ed onto the top of the barrel.

6. Small piece of Sintra, curved to fit over the cowling, and puttied in place with Bondo, plumber's putty or the like.

7. Custom 'D' connector, made from 2 pieces of Sintra, glued together and sanded down. Someone on this board can make these from aluminum or metal, but not sure.

8. Wood stock, made from small piece of wood, sanded and stained.

9. And finally, a shoulder strap, using shotgun mounts (found in the gun section at Wal-Mart) and an old camera case strap. Not movie accurate, but nice to be able to use your hands once in a while.

I hope this helps you get started!

-the piece of sintra that you are referring to, is that what you used to cover the chanber of the revolver? (cylider)
-where would one be able to get sintra?
