Just Humbrol enamel Matt clear coat (I forget the exact name). I guess I've been lucky, I've heard all sorts of horror stories similar to yours where people have had bad paint reactions. I just chuck all sorts on and it seems to work.

Not very scientific, but hey, if it ain't broke......

Well, the blue and yellow I used is gloss, and it just wouldn't do for Boba to have a shiny ol' JP on, now would it?

It dulls the gloss parts of the pack and also seals it and gives some protection against other minor scratches. Daft as it may sound, I don't want it any more damaged than I have already made it look!

Yeah there are a few new Brits getting their Fett's together. We'll have to get together at Mem for a group shot with JB. I know of at least 3 others going, aside from you and me.

Just an idea....

very nice pack you got there, although a nice calm and cool shade of green would look even better :p

Does anyone have some good pictures of the correct colors/effects for an ESB Jet Pack?

Will be assembling and painting one shortly, and just wanted to get some good reference shots of the pack itself, the colors, and the damage, etc...

Also, don't have it in hand yet, but what are the recommended methods for attaching the pack to the body? (This is going to be a display only piece and not worn (if that makes any difference, or allows any short cuts), so any suggestions would be great.

Thanks Much-

JP, I will throw in a floppy disk with some pics of the esb jet pack when I send your other stuff if you would like.

there are a few other threads here on that topic that I found very useful when I painted my jet pack. if you do a search for them you'll find several.

Good luck

ESB Green Jetpack - Does it match the armor??? (or what?)

Just curious if the ESB green style jet pack is the same color as the armor... The same as the helmet dome... Or a color all its own???

Would love to see any picks of anyone's green style pack that they've painted...

Thanks

What color are you going to be using on the dome...

(Is that spray or air brush, and if spray - what color/brand)?

Thanks AR

I posted this as a response in another thread, but I would be remiss to include it here.

I can't wait for Lee's discovery on the JP and gaunt colors so I can slap some paint on my JP. It's my opinion that the ESB JP main color is indeed the Panzer Olive Green. Below is a pic that I think was posted earlier in this thread and have now disappeared due to time. It shows that the color on the dome of the bucket is very close if not the same as it is on the JP. See what you guys think.

I do have another question for the ESB JP pros here. The missile I received has a, what I assume, is a warped shape. Here's a pic looking down from the top:

Is that right? Or if not, is there somewhere I can p/u a correct version?

The next question I do have, and it was addressed earlier in the thread, is about the decals. Anyone have these or pic's of what these actually look like?

Thanks,
Shawn

We happen to have a set of ESB decals.
Check this thread for more details. :D

Oh and about the rocket, we aren't one hundred percent sure but we doubt that is the way it is supposed to be. We're pretty sure it is supposed to be circular but we're not positive.

Hope this helps. :)

I'm not positive either, but I agree that panzer olivgrun may be the best choice for the JP. After painting my bucket w/ POG, it became apparent how funky this color is w/ lighting and angles, just a slight change in either drasticly alters the appearence of this stuff. The JP appears to have this "funky" stuff going on...looking very light greenish blue in some pics, and dark green in others. could be wrong, but I guess I think its the best choice we have right now.

There is:

RLM 64 Light Blue

RLM 65 Light Blue

Floquil Light Blue

Just looking to see what the majority chose so as not to need a repaint ;)

Thanks,
Steve
