Sooo...any progress on this guys??
JMP: So do you find that the Sage is alright?

And does anyone else have a good color they'd like to share with me? I'm looking for an exact brand as well if you can offer that ;)!

Cheers,
Bobo

I'm planning on painting my jet pack and gauntlets the same Panzer Olive Green 1943 as my helmet.

The color looks darn good, and I think it would look good too on the jet pack!

Now, if I can just find some!

I think it can be ordered online, can't it? I've probably been told before, but...

:D

Wow, you're gonna spend alot of money buying tons of those tiny bottles then! :p
I like the Panzer color too but the bottles are way too small and expensive for me to go painting the whole JP!

I think this stuff goes farther that you might think. I'd guess you wouldn't need more than four bottles. Five, maybe.

I figured I paid a ton for my JP so I'm not going to get cheap on the paint. Ya know. And I'm cheap, believe you me.

I don't think Panzer OG is the correct colour for the JP though (I'm pretty sure that the gauntlets are POG, but the armor is another colour and the JP is yet another color still -- that is just my opinion though).

I think JMP's spruce colour looks pretty good as pictured above.

Cheers!

It should go pretty far...but, I will be painting my gauntlets first, should another color show up before I paint my JP, then okay, I'll switch...

:D

Now that I think about it, TJ, you might be right. I think I'll just end up painting my gauntlets POG (even though they're ROTJ gauntlets...but I'm going ESB...so...yeah)! The ESB gauntlets do seem like they're a little lighter than a dark green in the movie, and the POG does seem like it matches quite well.

I guess I'll be picking up another bottle of that stuff :)
1 Bottle will be more than enough for one set of gauntlets because when I painted my bucket, I did 3 coats and I still have 1/3 of the bottle left over! ;)

As for the JP, I think I'll wait until someone comes up with a good spraycan color here (anyone? ;)), but if not....I'll just pick up a color that was already mentioned in this thread! :D

Cheers,
Bartek

I posted these in another thread:

Pretty close, no?

When I tried some similar shots of the JP in relation to the helmet it wasn't even close enough to post here. Which is what led me to think it's a different colour than the helmet.

Cheers!

Hmm, not bad at all! The left side of that picture looks like it's completely the same (where the right cheek and the gaunt mix)!

I think I'm convinced! :D

I think the POG is a good call. If you'll notice there is quite a bit more weathering on the helmet than on the gauntlets and the tech used would darken the helmet slightly.

Also if it takes 5 bottles of paint to paint the helmet gauntlets and pack you're really globbing it on 3 should do it all easily.

LOL! Yeah, better than the 20 mentioned above; you could paint Slave1 with 20 bottles and still have some left over.

The more I think about it, the more I think I'll use POG for my JP...if for no other reason than when I asked Bobo to get me paint I GROSSLY overestimated my needs -- I barely used 3/4 of a bottle on my helmet and I asked him for six.

I'm not 100% sure it's the right colour, but it's as close anything else.

Thanks for the input Lee. :D

Hmm...I think you might be on to something there with the pic of the helmet and esb jet pack put together. I would like to see it a little bigger maybe but the part of the helmet that is in the shade looks just like the center portion of the rocket tank.

I need a break from helmet painting before I do my next one, so I think I'm going to tackle the jet pack next.

I culled these from the reference CD, thought others might find it useful to have:

Looking at the back of the helmet in the main shot, I'd say POG looks close.

If there are other pix out there that I missed, I say we post them here.

There's some brown, red and silver on there as well as the green.

Cheers!

Very nice TJ!

Say, I think that Floquil Tuscan would look quite accurate for the piano keys, rims of the thrusters, middle of warhead (ring), top of fuel tanks and lower portion of the rocket! What do you think? :D

I mean, compare the color of the back of the helmet where the mandibles continue on at the back...looks close to the JP colors!

Oooh I like these ideas here. I may need to go with POG for my jet pack repaint. I agree on the tuscan idea. The mandible color do look very similar to the piano key color.

Thanks to MCL and Rex for providing our group with such a great jet pack. I had a chance to wear it this pass Saturday and it was incredibly light!

Great team effort!

Well I made a few modications to it. I modified the rocket, the tips on both top and bottoms of the fuel tanks and used the Bradley trusters(Thanks DarthGoat) I used the colors seen on Boba in the Chronicles book. I really like those colors and whats funny is that they match exact to the ones on all of the jango toy colors.

Check out the progress pics here.
