Isn't it a little odd that we're admiring another guy's balls? Don't get my wrong, they're great looking balls. ;)

HELP - JP nozzle BROKEN by accident!

Unfortunately, and after all the work I spent in those, one of my custom-made nozzles (made from Air Freshners), the one that I always had trouble with (the right one, which I always bump it with something, or fells off), it happened that my gas-operated weed eater, fell in top of the nozzle, which was in the floor of the shed, leaning on the wall, nozzle facing up for storage purposes, right underneath the weed eater, while I was looking for something around. I bumped my head with the weed eater, and this is the result:

Please, give me some info and feedback of what to do....(I still have an extra Air Freshner, I judt don't want to spend all that time doing it again)....

Robert

That is horrible. I don't know what to tell you to do. You could try glueing it back together. Make a new one, or maybe someone has and extra set. That suck though.

Sorry.

I agree, it looks like a job for super glue. If you have all of the pieces. It should go together quite smoothly if the brake isn't to jaged. :D

Superglue should do it, back it up with some plastic on the inside if you want to be safe.

I had a similar problem in my garage...I was rushing and i stepped on my 'piano keys'. Unfortunately they were crushed beyond repair, so I gotta redo them out of styrene or something.

Unfortunately, the nozzle after the paint job, is kinda weak, that you could even break it with your fingers (just like a cracker...somehow). Besides, I don't have all the pieces available, they got so broke, that pieces are still laying around in the shed, and if I put it together it won't even look the same. Still, I'm gonna try to get all the pieces and see that can I get.

I'm thinking about ordering a replacement set of nozzles and balls from MB or RA soon.

The lesson for this: ....don't place anything on top of the jet pack, specially if it's heavy. :facepalm

I've replaced my nozzles off my GA pack. I can snap some pics if you need. They were modeled off of the air freshener I believe but I'd be willing to let them go for a small fee.

Robert,

Bite the bullet and make a new one. That old one, if you can repair it, will never be as strong. The next time it'll be in 100 pieces! ;)

Believe it or not, these are made out of waterspray bottles...(you know, the cheap ones with the "trigger-pump" that you fill with water and spray plants, kids hair, etc with)

I'm VERY happy with how they turned out.
They're under the heading "Myballs1" in the jet pack folder at http://photos.yahoo.com/darthbish
You can see them attached to the jet pack...(which has also had a few other improvements made to it)...under the heading "jet packreborn" :jet pack

I found a couple odds and ends from the local hardware store. Two electrical conduit line caps and a couple small PVC fittings. It looks good enough to me!

Sorry for the crappy picture, that's what you get from a cheap digital camera...

Sherlock came by to see what all the hub-bub was...this is what they look like before the glue and paintjob.

As I was loading these images, he knocked over the display, the rascal...

Batninja, it looks really cool.

I actually started to believe it came from a piece of a car wheel center "ball bearing" part, that makes the nozzle piece so singular. I've seen it before and I kinda remember it, which gives me the conclusion that it came from there...now the brand of car is unknown, but I've seen it from an American-made car, late model (early 80's car???).

Maybe it could be a Universal fit for some parts (hey, I don't know Jack about car mechanics, though), but there could be a possibility.... I'll verify with an Auto Parts shop this week.

My question is, in the detailing of the Thruster "Ball" is the Black "plus" on the outside of the Carved in Circle, also carved in?

In this pic it looks like the Red Circle is carved but the Black areas on the outside look simply painted:

Does anyone have other photos like the above pic from the same Museum?

In this pic the builder obviously carved in the areas to be painted Black, but is that accurate?
