Official Jet Pack Symbols

July 2 UPDATE
OK here's the deal, I was frustrated that I couldn't capture all the details in my test cut's, in fact it was so hard to peel that I almost dropped this project.
But, since there were so many interested, I didn't want to let you guys down. So I re-worked some of the symbols taking a bit of detail out so that it would be "easier" to cut.
It's still a pain to peel off for me, but at least it does peel off.
Here are the sizes (I'll post pics soon):
TANK TOPS: .5" height
MIDDLE TOP: .42" X 1.5"
MIDDLE BOTTOM: .3" X .84"
LEFT BOTTOM: .28" X 1"
RIGHT BOTTOM: .3" X 1"

I also finished the Jango decals, which were a lot easier because most are solid symbols.
Once I get a go from Mirax H on the Jango ones, I'll take some orders.
As for ESB, all I need are sizes and colors and I'll get it done
Pre-pro version. . .if there is enough interest.

I've been convinced to tackle this project. I just need to know if these are the only places it is on:
Top: Middle, Left tank, Right tank
Bottom:Left, Middle, Right

Is there anything I'm missing?
Is the same writing on Jango's classic jet-pack?

I have the ref. cd which I will be using, but does anyone have any more good pics I can use?

Again, I can be of no assistance, but your decals rock. Sign me up, dude!

I was just brainstorming of how I will make these.
As usual:
Clean (solid sybols)
Weathered (according to MoM pics)

Materials:
Black vinyl (glossy)
Black vinyl (matte)
Painted black,clear vinyl

I put down the glossy black vinyl because, for some reason, the matte black is a lower tac. I'll probably include both for an order.

The painted black clear is cool because you can "scratch" your own weathering, and since it is clear, the color of your jet pack will show through.

What do you guys think?

I actually was wondering where I was gonna get these for Jango. I don't know what Boba has but Jango has one on the upper center of the right and left tanks, down the left side on the top part of the center tank, in the center of the bottom part of the center tank, and on the bottom of the left white rectangular piece.

I've seen a set on another website and there is 8 decals on his set:
Left tank Cap
Tank Top Left
Right Tank Top
Bottom of Main Tube
Right Tank Cap
Near Right Beacon
Housing Left Side
Housing Right Side ????? Graphics made this somewhat discernible.

On BB's MoM pics of the jet-pack there are 6 symbols:
1)middle of the left tank top
2)middle of the right tank top
3)top right of the main tank
4)bottom left of the main tank (white section)
5)bottom right of the main tank (white section)
6)bottom of the main tank (below the middle blue section)

The pre-production pack has 8 symbols:
Same 6 as above plus one each on the blue section right below the left and right tank tops.

On the AoSW there are only 3 symbols: the first 3 on the list.

It also looks like there are a lot of differences between the symbols on each, some slight others major.

Should I go with the MoM pics?
What's the consensus?

Some of Jango's symbols are different, namely the bottom ones. There are some pics from C2 around here somewhere that shows them.

Ely - you doing only 1 version or would you be hitting 3 (ESB/ROTJ/Jango)?
I think you can get all 3 in one sheet 'coz ESB and Jango have minimal JP decals.

This project is still in the works, but if/when I get down to doing this, I'll probably do ROTJ, Jango, and maybe pre-pro.
I didn't think ESB had any, but I'll go check.
DV1's pic. is the Pre-pro version by comparison and still a bit off according to the ref. pics I have.
I'll try to start on this project soon, but I'm going to be busy for a couple of weeks, so I'll try to find some time to work on them.

does anyone have pics of these red and white stripes on the ESB pack?i never seen them before.

I'm not exactly shure how many decals are on ESB, but in addition to the white upsidedown U-shape, there is at least some type of stripe on the thrusters-whether or not it is a decal or painted I can't tell. There is also a short brown strip, followed by a black strip on the right bottom side near the mid-line (in between the rocket housing and the right canister-Basically in the same spot as the white upsidedown U, but on opposite side.) Again, can't tell if its painted or a decal.

I've sent Eli in the mail some decal copies and for those who want the helmet "kill marks" (for those who want those in decal instead of painting them) and decals for the helmet as well (ESB style), with some instructions as well. He'll be working with them pretty soon, he's working some other projects as well, so give him time...he won't let us down, I promise!

I know some of them are spliced letters from the same FONT as the ESB helmet decals. And some are just the plain letters at the end of the alphabet. like the "DE" for example.

I'm not sure if you were refering to what I posted? I was simply stateing that several of the orginal decals on the jet pack are most likely made out the same letraset transfer compacta style fonts as the ESB helmet. check out this link and scroll down past the capitols and you'll see the "de" and "AE" like on the jet pack.

I'll check for the closest letter style I can find, but I'll most likely just digitize it in the computer since most of the old ones are fragmented any way (but could help with the Jango and Pre-pro version[img]images/smiles//icon4.gif[/img]).
My dad used to use letraset all the time (being a sign painter before computers), in fact I'll check if he still has some. Those were the ones that came in a sheet and you rubbed each letter off transfering them on another material, right. They were really thin. . . that explains why most of them has rubbed off in the exhibits.
Were these the same materials used for the "newer" Jango jet-pack?

I'm not sure about jango, but you can still get the transfers, but they will cost you.

That decal set from Mandelorian costuming is unaccurate...save your money!!!!

The pic of the Jet Pack symbols I posted earlier in this thread, are precisely the ones I bought from MandalorianCostuming. Look at them and you could tell.

VashDStampede is updating those now, and working on a more accurate version.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been on vacation for a week and haven't had much time to do any more work on these.
I still need more information on actual sizes so that I can see if the small details will work using black vinyl, if not I'll see if I can screen them on a clear decal and see how good it looks.
So I would appreciate any input on dimensions for these to get it as accurate as possible.
I know that there are a few versions of jet-packs out there so I can do more than one size, but a definitive size will be great.
ROTJ is pretty much done, should I do pre-pro, ESB, or Jango next? (I may still need more ref. pics for Jango though)

DV1: I've been trying to work out some kinks with this project. I used your old set as a size ref and the details became to small to peel. (I've also been waiting for my jet pack to arrive for an actual reference)
Don't worry though, I will find a way, but in the meantime, I will send a couple of people what I have so far (sample cuts) for their opinion on it.
I've been swamped with work so I have not been able to get to the other projects, but it would only take a few days to finish them once I get started.

Vash and myself are working on the ROTJ/Pre-prod decals last details. All I could say is that they're impressive and almost done. Just tweaking a little few things. We'll keep you guys informed.

Here's pics of my Jango symbols that I just applied today. I give these babies They were super easy to apply, they look great, the size is perfect for my MLC pack, they don't look like decals, and did I mention they were easy? Great job on these Ely!

I'll try to make a sign-up thread soon, for the Jango and ROTJ decals. The size of your pack may be a factor, though.
The sizes are based on Mardon's pack, but I know there are many other packs out there. The sizes for Jango decals are posted in an earlier post I had, and you can compare the pics I posted for the ROTJ. DV1 has a GA pack and I'm waiting to see how the ROTJ ones look on those.

I still need more input on what color(s) to use for ESB, matte white for the logo BF posted? What about the lines?

DV1's decals were one of the first trial decals I made. The ones I'm offering had been adjusted slightly as mentioned in the other thread.
As I mentioned to Lynn, no "assembly" needed for these. They come in their respected grouping with a removable clear application tape on top for easy transfer, just cut, paste, peel.

Guys, like Eli said, don't feel jealous about it, it was just a trial set to see how it looks and fits on the JP, in order for him to make adjustments accordingly, which I've seen that they look way better now (the new ones he's offering now), specially the tank top symbols, which in mine were a little bigger than expected, but I managed to make them fit.

Guys, just an update of the pics I posted earlier in this thread...I have the pics of the tank tops now posted there.

About Eli's statement, please guys, have just a little patience, cause believe me or not, this decals are not a joke to apply...much less are in the making process.

Just a brief description of these ones: these decals are just in the same concept as the vinyl lettering or logos you apply in cars (remember the one that Eli did of the Bantha skull in white for the cars with thedentedhelmet.com words below)...this is the same, but at a WAY smaller scale. The weathering this symbols has, HE has to take and peel off the "scratched" areas of each symbol and each character detail by detail. So imagine this just using a hobby knife, and probably a microscope (???)

Guys, in behalf of Eli, this is the most difficult job someone in this forum could ever have, even more work than painting or assembling a Fett armor which is just cut, sand, prime, and paint...but this is precise, calmed, patient, and accurate...just in quantities and really small! Just my 2 cents!

I'm using a new clear masking on these which have a little less tac, the ones Mirax H got, and they are much easier to apply, but you'll still have to make sure that all the little pieces are on your JP as you peel off the masking.

You are way too kind Robert, it may not be the most difficult job in comparison to the work everyone on the TDH has done(I think all those things you just mentioned are way harder and more time consuming, at least in my opinion) but this does take more time than the other decals I've personally done so far, it's a pain and requires a lot of patience and my eyes hurt after a while looking at all those little pieces and replacing ones that come off.

Robert, a big thanks for all your support on my projects, as well as everyone who orders my work.
I'll do all I can to make sure these go out next week.

To all the ones that have the "PAID" next to their order have been sent out today. Sorry for the delay on these, but I've been busy with my new girlfriend and between her and work, I don't have too much "me time". I hope you guys understand and again I apologize.
I included a print out labeling the decals and a piece of vinyl just in case you need to cut out a missing detail (which I don't think you will need to do).
Again these are really tiny, so be careful when peeling them off before and after application.

GUYS - these are a very poor copy from the file I created about 2 years ago in adobe. Never thought you could recast graphics.

I don't understand why people don't come to the source for these graphics (I have a drawer full of them) and why someone would feel the need to directly lift them.

These symbols pic are for the Boba Fett Jet Pack, and this stickers pic came originally like that, kind of fuzzy and somehow unreadable (so, don't blame me now for that). This will give an idea to everyone of what we're talking about.

BTW, this is NOT a VashDStampede's version, that's why we're looking forward from him to improve them.

All the work I have done for the chest and Jet-pack symbols have been based on the MoM pics, I would never copy or use someone else's work without their permission (ie: Ego's shoulder logos).
It took me hours to digitize the symbols I have used for the decals, and I too would be upset if someone copied or used the pictures without my consent, but again, I used the pictures off of the ref. cd and not your work. In fact I mentioned all this in my earlier posts.

However, if you meant this about having your graphics included in DV1's post, I'm sure he'll be kind enough to remove it (or one of the mods). He's a great guy who just wanted to help out.

I hope there is no hard feelings with this misunderstanding,
