NEW V2 SCREEN ACCURATE FETT HARNESS sign up list!

FullMetalFett. He's got a sale thread in the Cargo Hold, IIRC. He offers these rings, the four rings to cinch the shoulder straps, both versions of the US Divers buckle, the waist strap tensioner, and upper and lower pack hooks with screws and backplates. Man's a godsend. ^_^

I like your PP2 shoulder badge. *points to user icon*

The Supertrooper/Pre-Pro #1 jetpack harness strap is sewn to the upper harness in a loop form which doesn't 'double' to the end (it is not sandwiched the whole length). Here is an image that explains this:

As Gino already said, it is very possible that the AoSW/C-IV exhibit jetpack harness IS the reused Supertrooper/Pre-Pro #1 harness (it has similar belt buckle too):

Pretty much what I could tell from that Supertrooper test-fitting pic. Don't suppose you've been able to work yourmagic and find dimesions? That angle -- straight on from the back -- doesn't give much useful perspective. :/

With a bit of work I got these values:

I can work with that. For me, it's mostly been a matter of never being able to quite make out how far forward on the shoulder strap the pack strap ends. I estimated about 90mm from the shoulder seam of the vest back to the end of the strap, but on the Supertrooper test pic it looks like the pack strap doesn't quite go all the way to that point. Is that your thinking, too?

On the original suit(s) the jetpack straps were/are adjustable, so it was/is possible to change slightly the upper strap's position. Also, on the other suits that riveted straps looks longer than the ones on the Supertrooper/Pre-Pro #1, this is why the Supertrooper strap is located a bit lower. The strap is sewn on the shoulder harness at a 30 degree position (with approximation), so when it is suited on, they are in an almost parallel position.

Right. I'm making the black straps on mine adjustable, too. But I don' think that would do much to affect the positioning of the pack strap. There would have to be a significant size difference in individuals wearing the same harness. I know what you're saying about the riveted straps being longer. That's one thing that's always bothered me about them -- the jetpack looks like it's hanging off the backplate because of it. Thanks for you insight. :) And thanks again to Gino for starting this thread lo these many moons ago. I know lately it's been being used more to nail down details than an interest/sign-up thread, but that run has long since closed and I'm still wanting to make an accurate rig myself. :)

Hi there, I note that earlier in this thread it was stated that there was a search for 4 rib seatbelt up to about 2" ?
Did anyone find a supplier ?

Greetings Gino, Gav, Rob,

On behalf of the many new faces on this forum; I would like to ask if another run of the V2 harness (ESB 4 rib, Large) might be initiated in the 'not-too-distant-future'?

It would be disconcerting to think that being late to the party means new, discerning up-and-coming Fetts would be SOL for such a kool item of hardware kit.

I've read through this entire thread, mouth frothing to think all the kool Fett kit has already been made and bought up never to be experienced again.

Kind regards-

Gino isn't on very often. There are only 2 people that I know of that made the harness in metal and one (booboofett) doesn't make them any more.

Yes, that's the gist with a lot of the threads I've read through on the forum. So-and-so painter is retired, "Last Run" not doing these again, "Final sculpt", "No slots left", etc. etc.

Must say it's discouraging whether or not I'll be able to put together an uber-accurate Fett starting out in 2014. After all, this will take a few years and so much of the cool, high-speed, low-drag, highly accurate innovations and kit done by some quality Artists represented here are years past.

No big deal as I've only got a few hundred invested thus far (ESB gloves from Major and ESB flight suite, pouches on order from Arkady) after only a month discovering this forum.

I'm sure whenever I'm able to post in the Cargo Hold I would be able to recoup some percentage of that by listing those if this falls flat.

Best regards and thanks for the reply.

Kind of a necro post but i'm asking myself about one of the slide on the harness. Looking at the reference pics available and also at BFUK's work, i'm pretty sure this slide should look like what i drew on the right.

Does anyone know what these slides are named after? I've looked for them on the web but couldn't find even one pic of a similar type of slide...

Edit: FMF is the answer!
