Need Gray Skygunbro Fabric!

Hey guys, I bought a Skygunbro ESB Fett flight suit and it's a bit tight. In looking at it, with my (limited) sewing ability, it looks like I can unattach the zipper, cut the midline seam and add in about four inches of fabric to get it out of my crotchital-region! :rolleyes

The thing is, I need fabric. Does anyone know what he uses for the gray fabric? OR does anyone have any of it?

I've sent him messages on here and Yahoo messenger, but I know he's super busy and doesn't get a chance to check mails much.

Help me, TDH, you're... well, not my ONLY hope, but my best one yet. :D

Nobody has any ideas? Haven't heard from SGB.

I'm considering getting a Dickie's workshirt in gray and adding in pieces from that. The waist and underarms are where I need it most, all hidden by belts and flak vest.

Hey,
It is nearly impossible to match the color of any fabric. Even if, there is one type of fabric he uses, and he has the maker, lot number and everything, the color will be different with different dye lots.

I will send my address. You can send a swatch, like 3 x 3" and I can see if what I have may match it. I have "fett" colors.

Thanks hon! The problem is the suit is made and I need it for Halloween! :p I'm going to take it with me to a few stores this weekend to see if I can match it, or come close. If so, as I said, most of the pieces I need to add in are hidden so the color difference won't be that noticable. Especially after weathering.

Basically, it's up in the crotchitals so I'm adding in about 4" around the waist (moving the zipper up will be the worst part), and will add in two 3-4" strips in the sides under and into the sleeves to widen it a little. I'm pretty muscular and it's tight in the chest.

Okie Dokie,

Make sure to wash and dry the fabric before adding to your suit. This will preshrink the fabric. If you do not preshrink, the fabric will shrink up when you was the suit and all of your hard modification work, will pucker up and be a big mess.

Good Luck!

You have to add 4" in length?? :confused

Your best best would be to take the jumpsuit to a fabric store and see if they can come up with something close in weight, color and texture!

Add the 4" segment where it would be hidden underneath the girth belt.

The strips you want to add to the chest should be covered by the flak vest.

Good luck! (y)

Four inches will probably make it an inch or so long, but I'm going to let it bag a bit at the ankles and knees with the armor. Right now they're slightly high watered and I'm talking in soprano! :D

I can get it on around my chest but I'm afraid I'm going to rip it if I move wrong! :) I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'm still a novice tailor but the Force (and luck) is with me.

I bought a "Dickie's" jumpsuit, it's a few shades too dark but I think I'm going to wash it in color remover, then get to cutting/sewing.

Have you thought about removing the folded section above the waist line to use? I removed mine as it was in the way and am using the fabric for accurate sized shin pockets...

Honestly I didn't think about that! Since it's part of the accuracy of the costume, I was going to just keep it. But you're right, it's hidden and my costume isn't so accurate anyway. GOOD CALL! :)

Just saw this...did you get the suit form me directly or did you buy it from someone selling it? cause Being that much off doesnt sound right.Four inches in terms of material is alot so make sure your thigh pockets dont turns into ankle pockets.
Is this the Twill suit or the thinner cotton suit?I would be glad to send you extra material as long as I have it.
Also where the 3 tiered belt section is around the waist on my suits that actually covers a seam that connects the top and bottom .I would suggest taking off the 3 tiered belt section add in your materil and put it back on and youll never know it was done.If you want cal me and Ill explain better pm me and Ill give you my number or I can call you and save you the call.-Jason

Jason, thanks for the input. I sent you a PM about this previously, and just updated it with the suit type. If you do have extra material, I'd appreciate it as I need to get the back widened a little too, but I can get it on. Just afraid I'll rip it if I stretch and yawn. :D

Thanks!!

oh ok so you did get someone elese suit that explains it thought maybe that day I took to much cough medicane lol. Ill look and see what i have i hope I have it but I cant promise ya.Il loo today and let you know.

Thanks again, Jason, you're the greatest. I don't know if you track these but the suit I got is from Notlewis (thanks to him for being so great and patient with me as I panicked with the post time). I'm 6'3", 34 waist by 34 length, 40L jacket. The sleeves fit fine but the chest is tight. I only need enough fabric to drop the crotch a few inches out of my manhood, and add in a few inches in the back to loosen it up a little. A few strips should do the trick.
