MY ROTJ Fett build WIP

sgtski

Active Hunter
Just starting a thread for my upcoming ROTJ build. I am in the 501st and i have a CB aka BARC or Kashyyyk costume and I am a Mando on the Mercs board.
I will be looking for as many "found" items for this build. I am hoping to make this an extremely accurate costume and it will take the better part of a year to complete(longer since I was deployed for a year since I started).
I will post up some pics of my progress and my other costumes in case I have run into some of you at events.

So far i have an Mq1 calculator that i will use to make my own keypad from, an army shelter half for the cape and my helmet from ASOK is in the mail!!! I hope to get my soft parts ordered soon.

Nice, I look forward to watching your progress sarg! Best of luck in obtaining those parts.

I really like your two suits you've shown in those photos. Did you make those yourself? Really nice looking custom makes, really cool!

I did the assembly, paint and fitting from parts i bought from other makers. The Barc is a kit for the hard parts and the soft parts i dyed and sewn myself. The mando is gathered parts, assembled, painted, and modified. Going to be a slow build on this one, should pick up speed next year as my budget and time will be better. Hoping to have it at Dragon Con 2013. The helmet arrived and will be taken to have signed by Jeremy Bulloch at Philly Wizard World this year.

Starting to pick up some speed on this costume. Got my RKD parts in today and I am on a waiting list from LadySewForUs for all of the soft parts. I also picked up aluminum knee launchers and aluminum darts for right gauntlet.

You have (will have) excellent parts from great builders/craftsmans and I hope that your paint job will do justice for those parts, especially the helmet and the armor (so far - I think the jetpack will follow). Keep us posted with the preparation and painting stages of each part. You did great acquisitions!

Thank you, I am searching for the templates and the right spray paints. I've got some time before I start laying paint down. Im gonna keep busy with fitment, hardware installation, trimming and sanding prep. I hope in a few months, I'll have gathered more parts and be ready to get this painted and start test fitting.

I just downloaded everything ROTJ and some more from Rafal. Thank you very much for doing the work and posting it for us RafalFett and thank you RKD for the heads up and the kit. I did a little sanding today after i did a bunch of research on the RF remote.

So far I am just sanding, trimming, and test fitting. I have been doing a bunch of research on the little details and who has what that i still have to order.

According to the Supertrooper helmet parts sheet (located in the Gallery/Boba Fett/Supertrooper) there were 2 red (for the top) and 3 white (for the inside) lamps/LEDs, but there's no clear proof of the functional 3 white LEDs.

Thanks Raf. Thats for the Supertrooper concept for ESB correct? I looked it over. I see in some members builds a trend towards green lights or green wire for the 3 lines inside the clear part. Im good on the red outside LED's. I have a kit from SalamanderKing and i just wanted to check if i was missing something. The LED's in my kit are white.
