Made all the upper chest armor out of clay and ended up molding them in silicone and then cast them out in fiberglass Havent taken any beauty shots of the pulls from the molds.

made the pouches more practical by wrapping cardstock templates in pleather and then assembling. FYI a sewing machine will punch thru 2 layers of pleather and 2 layers of cardstock. just take it slow
got the magnets in for the pouches will be attaching them soon

Physical weathering done on the cape now I get to make it dirty. going to do all cloth weathering at once though to make it consistant. other than the paint on the armor and helmet of course.

Kinda dreading the back panel of armor. got a trash bin and have it cut out. now to flatten it so that I can bend it into shape :(

Made a good score at my local sign shop they happened to have a piece of 1/8" sintra that had a few dents in it like someone set it on the floor and a few nails had popped up. lots of fine little scratches on it. 4'x6' sheet of blue. gave it to me for free cause it is worthless for making signs!

I am one happy Boba right now!

Ok guys I have another question for you.
Ive done construction on and off for most of my life. ive had experience with elastic attatched kneepads. and on me they usually fall straight to the floor after a little bit of walking.
how can I avoid this with these knee armor
??

Hey again, my knee armor has the elastic on the back for accuracy, but on the inside front portion it has a piece of Velcro that sticks to a piece sewn on the flight suit. It hasn't fallen since:). Hope that helps.

Very nice work. You can also use a snap on the back of the knees and the flight suit to stop them from falling down.

ok guys so yeah its been a while since i posted last...... had a lot goin gon with other costumes for ECCC (seattle Comicon)
but now im into it.
I recently received my DVH helmet and it looks awesome. I cut out the visor minus a couple of support bridges. and have started to bend the lens to shape. however im a little lost on the best way to attach things like the ears or the right ear cap and how to properly install the Borden connector. Also how far does the Borden connector sitck out????

im kinda dreading cutting out the key slots as small as they are.
If anyone knows a good build thread with the DVH helmet id love to hear from you.

Also got my RKD gauntlets and im honestly not sure where to start there as the tutorial that RKD had up showing the assembly and closure.... well apparently Photobucket dumped his pictures so the written directions are only so helpful without the picutres......
if anyone can point me in a good direction for help with them i would be eternally grateful.

Gonna have to thin down the stalk a bit I think and I got the Borden connector "placed". Tiny bit of fill work on the helmet and a bunch of small pinholes on the ears to cover with a bit of bondo but otherwise I'm super happy with this DVH helm.

What do people like to do to take care of the fiberglass strands left over when you cut out things.

Got my dvh helmet in and the visor "installed". But there seems to be one issue. Idk if it's really an issue or not though or if I should just push some Bondo in the gaps and make it pretty. Thoughts?

Take some sand paper and sand them off. The leftover strands will sand away easily.
