MY ROTJ BLASTER/ MR???

:cheering I’m finally finished my ROTJ Fett Blaster…..took a little less than two weeks to build and Paint…

This is a Kit I bought off of EBAY:doh …It was in really bad shape and took a lot of work and Bondo to get it where I wanted it……

I built it using 2” PVC pipe and 1”3/4 PVC pipe, and other purchased parts… as the Kit didn’t come with all the pieces……
It also has an inaccurate working scope, But I like to think I came pretty close….may up-grade that later.

I wanted to try to “emulate” the Master Replicas Fett Blaster paint job…..meaning I completely HATE the way the actual one is painted…it seems too messy to me.

I want to thank Galactic Bounty Hunter, Batninja, Darthmiller, and Evan4218 for all the great input and critique you guys gave me…Thanks Guys

That looks great!! I have to agree with you about the "real" one's paint job. Your looks real. I now know what I want mine to look like. I be saving these pics for the archives. Any chance of a tutorial?

"Perhaps", but what purpose would that serve?? I knew what I was getting when I purchased it, and the transaction went smooth, so seems pointless to me......
And as you can see it didn't matter in the end now did it??.....:lol......oh and MLC makes a good Blaster too...

The Sidewinder ones are supposed to be pretty sturdy, no? I thought I read he had his reinforced or something? I am seriously in the market for a new blaster.

Yea you're right, I've seen a Sidewinder up close..it's pretty Sturdy......:thumbsup
I'm glad I didn't buy it upfront because this one is almost 40% scratch built and I spent a lot of time preping it, So now I feel like it's "my baby":o ....
I had to order the Movie accurate "Rubber Fins" for the barrel....and I think I'm gonna go with an alumium Stock connector upgrade either way.....then it'll be perfect...;)

Sidewinders have metal reinforcing in the stock connecter ,and I would highly recomend them to anyone :) Mine is going to be an ESB as soon as i get all the parts !!

That rusty/weathering effect you got goin' on is amazing! How'd you do that???? Just carefully placed dry brushing? What color and brand of paint?

That thing looks really old and beat up in a GOOD way...

Great looking blaster you got there spidey. But I have to ask didn't you make ROTJ blasters way back in the day? Why would you not just use one of your own instead of buying one you had to put so much work into?

Combination "Dry Brush and wet on wet and Air Brush"....
Rust was just a cheap arcylic paint...then coated with a Flat Testors Dull coat...;)

Sure no big deal...

Wet on wet simply means that you wet the surface of where you plan to apply the paint....in this case the weathering or rust or washes I used.....
I use a spray bottle to apply the water, very sparingly, and then apply the pigment of paint where I applied the water......the paint or pigment will AUTOMATICLY flow in the areas that are wet.......you can take any excess off with a paper towel.........anyone that has used water colors should know this technique...
I think a combination of both DRY brush and wet on wet will give you the "look" that you're going for...
