My ROTJ Armor WIP Paintwork

My FP ROTJ Armor WIP Paintwork

Hi Hunters,

Well, this is my first post of the work done on my FP armor since I first got it awhiles back. [Thanks Chris! (y)]

I've always wanted to be involved with every part of my Suit's buildup so I took a big step in painting my own armor, using the masking method after reading and learning from the paint gurus here.

Oh and all this was done with Tamiya Spray Paint Cans [with some paint color advice from KidAkira, gracias bro!] as I don't own an Airbrush...yet.

The paintwork is basically done, right now, I need to work on the dullcoating, weathering, scratches, misting and the damaged layer that I missed out on the AB plate [i'll have to go topical with this, short of stripping and redoing it].

Again, this is my first ever paintjob, so be kind.

So, here we go..

Big thanks to all the Paint Guru's here with the loads of advice and helpful suggestions!

Stay safe,

Tim.

Hey Tim, Lookin' great! Can't wait to see more progress as you go. Awsome work for your first paint job bro! Keep us updated with pics as you get that weathering going.
Cheers bro,
KidAkira

Great start there, Tim. The only thing that jumps out at me is the yellow shoulders/knees. It might just be the flash, but your yellow could use a light misting of orange.

Thanks guys! Coming from you gurus, it means alot!

I'll keep you posted on the work and thanks again for the advice!

Stay safe,

Tim.

Really looking good. (y) A little orange mist on the knees and shoulders as mentioned will give it the correct hue. Also be sure to set the black splatters on the armor as part of the weathering. Great job.

Excellent paint up so far - looking forward to the weathering steps and completion.

Looks like lots of great work on armor going on here lately - :)

Apologies bro, yes, I will cut and reshape it. In fact, I had it done over the weekend.

And did some Armor misting/weathering: [The Flash washes out alot of the work..]

Question Hunters, any tool recommendation on making some major scratches? Please do LMK and thanks!

Thanks again Hunters for the good word! :cheers

Tim.

Very good weathering! The armor is looking really good. Once you have all the weathering and damage how you like it, then be sure to seal it with dullcote. The dullcote sealer will dull sown the colors and blend them together.

The real suit is very dull and looks almost dusty.
