    Aug 5, 2009, 1:19 PM - My Mojo/Volkerc Sidearm Paintup #1

Ok, here is my step by step guide on how I painted up my Mojo/Volkerc sidearm, first off let me say this is as good as it gets in terms of replica pieces, the time and effort spent putting this project together is instantly apparent when you take this thing out of the box so my hats off to both Gav and to Volkerc, you guys nailed it

The first thing I did with this is to address a few tiny, and I mean tiny, imperfections in the body, there were a couple of small air holes which with a small amount of Isopon p38/Bondo were easily fixed, I also took the time to sand down the base off the hand-grip to the correct contour, which curves up slightly from back to front As the 2nd picture shows I then hit the whole thing with another light coat of primer and headed out to find a base red I was happy with

    More to come....

Next step I masked off the barrel body to spray my chosen red, like Art I used a red primer, made by Hycote, it drys matt and looks pretty good to me Once dried I removed the masking and screwed the barrel tip in, all coming together nicely, you can also see that I sprayed the main body of the gun with a base of aluminium silver, this is because I am adding layered damage

Ahem, ok so I've just gotten in from a night out and decided to post up the next batch of photos, here you can see I hit the body of the gun with my base red and then once dry fitted the barrel body back into it, after I was happy that the paint had fully cured I began peeling back my liquid mask and there you go, weathering will be done tomorrow after I've had a few hours sleep

The red I used was an Acrylic Primer made by a company called Hycote, I got it from a motorists center over here in the UK

Ok, I think I know of a similar looking primer from a local company here in Norway.

    Thanks bro!
