My Jet Pack

My Jetpack

I'd say it's 90%. A few tweeks on the thrusters and some damage here and there, but this is how it looks today. I got this kit VERY cheap and I know it's not nearly 100% accurate, but it's good enough for me for now. I have had to put A LOT of work into this to get it here. It arrived broken, the thruster housings were almost ripped off when I opened the box. I have put so much time into it and I think it came out pretty well. I'm not a master painter by any means, but I do like it. I think my Fett is going to rock! Enjoy the pictures.

Did that for ya man. That is the original seller's pic. I believe this is a goldenarmor piece.

I used some latex I had left from making Batman costumes. It's a little thicker than the stuff you get at the craft store, so I found it easier to shape to my liking.

Hey, I recognize that set of keys
you took a $100 JP and turned that into a fantastic ROTJ masterpiece! it doesn't look like the same pack to me, are you sure it's the same one????
well done Matt.

Very nice job ... it looks great.(y) One little recommendation: the stabilizer looks at bit tall. You may want to trim it down if possible.

Also, the thrusters look like they're tilting inwards. Otherwise, great job!

They're not permanantly fixed in that position. The MLC thrusters are a little too small for the holes that were already there so I'm padding them to make them fit. The right one needs more, but the left is pretty good.

Excellent job on the pack! (y) This is the one part of the costume I'm dreading to do as I have no experience painting something with such intricate detail. Yours looks great! :D

by the power of greyskull and oprah magazine, that's a fine looking jet pack.

...the newest "thing" in liquid mask....while I haven't used it personally I've seen the results and they are on par with most run of the mill liquid masks.

Nice JP by the way!

Okay, so it's a variety of masking, then? I thought people must be thinning down condiments and brushing them on.

I did all the scratches by scraping paint away except for the rocket, which I did with thinned-down latex for mask-making. It's essentially the same thing as the masking fluid you go to the store and buy by the time I'm done with it.
