I finally started working on my jetpack harness. To keep the budget low (whatever this means (-; ) i decided against a US Divers harness or replica and and searched for similar vintage diving stuff. I finally found this german "Froschmann-Technik" harness for a few euros. I added an aluminum rod and 2 canvas belts with D-rings and cut away some of the harness upper body to get more space for the back armor
I tried to do something similar with the harness. You have yours sitting much lower than I did and you cut away the top portion (which his smart because mine had a whole bunch that I could have done without) however, you will find that when you add the flak vest (which goes OVER the harness) it gets waaaay too bulky and will look awkward. You might also have a lot of the black portion of the harness sticking out from the bottom. I would test fit with a vest on to be sure.
Good point DeathProof!
The bulkiness with the flak vest on is fine but as you mentioned, the sticking out portion could be a problem /-:
I can check that point when my jetpack arrives.
I'm almost positive only because the bottom jetpack clips will go on that bar. It looks like you still have another 5-6 inches of harness coming down from the metal bar. Unless you move your bottom clips higher, but that might make your jetpack ride way too low.
Good news,it works! I performed contortions... the look of the harness on the mannequin and on my back are way different. The flak vest covers the harness completely.
I used this test fit for drilling the connecting holes for the collar & back armor. I also added snaps to the collar piece and the vest
I just finished my right MOW gauntlet. I cut white styrene sheets for the white detailing because of some casting issues. The gauntlet is hinged on one side and closes with snaps on the other
Switches and darts will follow as soon as i find some suitable parts
