My Fett Begins... (Pic Heavy)

Armor looks great! But if you want to do a no hold back on cash version, why no new helmet? Just curious.

Can't wait to see that jetpack. That's my favorite part of the costume, personally.

Thanks guys! Egon, yes, I do intend on getting a much more accurate helmet but I want to first practice painting up the rubies helmet to gain more experience before I paint the good stuff. That's why I'm starting with the blaster as well; if I goof up, I goof up $17 rather than $300 (plus I can always sell the rubies later in the cargo hold or the bay :)). I got the helmet many years back when I was little, but since I got it, might as well work with it!

I intend on getting a Bobamaker helmet. Since I decided to go with SE Boba Fett I need a good ESB style helmet and Bobamaker pays a lot of attention to little details in the helmet (uneven cheekbones, sharp dent, ect.) plus he makes a hollow RF stalk so I can put that RF light system in there as well.

Costume update; I received my Fettronics V3.2 light board today! It looks so cool. Jon is a great guy to deal with; fast response time and it only took 3 days from when I sent the order form in to getting it in the mail! I highly recommend! I will post a picture tomorrow!

Now that I have that piece, I can start laying out the size of the window I'm going to cut into the left breastplate. I also finished fine sanding the helmet so I can start getting good paint to practice perfecting the armor color scheme. Still have yet to finish the blaster but after today I have some time off work so I can gather more materials and knock some stuff out!

Here's my board!

Thanks! Sorry for the lack of updates folks. I have been incredibly sick these pas couple of days (plus still having to go to work... not helping lol) I have been unable to get more done.

However; I did get rust-oleum high grade primer and aluminum enamel paint from the hardware store! was able to prime the rubies helmet (though some areas require a second spray) and I made a test strip to see if the aluminum says put (working with paint in the past, aluminum, chrome, or other metalic-ish paint tends to have glittery stuff rub off no matter how dry it is) and it does stay put! Highly recommend this paint (would've come in handy when I made a gunblade for a Final Fantasy cosplay...). Shoulder pads are ready to paint as well. They will be the first guys to paint since they are small and are the cheapest to replace if something goes horribly wrong.

My RKD armor still needs some work before it's ready to paint as well (the backplate needs a lot of love ;)) but now that I have the light board, I can confidently cut out the window on the breast plate and be able to paint that too!

Ok! Been a while since I last updated this. So on with the pics!

I finally got a replica helmet (a mystery helmet from Darth Veach).

Also got aluminum parts from Mojo-Fett!

Also, my girlfriend is the best girlfriend ever! She got me a manikin for my birthday so I could display my outfit!

Though the picture doesn't show it, the jetpack is strapped on and wearable! I could have sworn I took a picture of them, but I also have ROTJ style gauntlets from Man of War as well! I will hopefully post those up as well in the near future!

Also got a lot of work done on my RKD armor as well! The breast plates are almost ready to apply to the vest. Having some trouble with the knee pads though but I will get that resolved eventually!

Hopefully, weather and schedule permitting, I'll have all pieces of armor wearable and at least with the aluminum paint layer by the end of August (I hope).

So I'm really close to finishing this thing.... After 6 years of working on this bad boy. Got to meet some people from the 501st at a convention a few weeks back! However, I've had a hard time getting into contact with my local garrison for further review of my costume. There isn't a lot left for me to do but the garrison officer who I talked to told me to wait to see what kind of specifics they want for the wrap up. Any 501st members who might be able to help me out to get started on my application?
