My ESB Armour Paintjob

BobaFuss

Jr Hunter
Here is my armour. I've been painting with rattlecans (colours listed below). This is FP armour. I'm still waiting for the shoulders and centre diamond plate to arrive.

I still need to do a bit more on the chest armour. This is the armour painted. I've done a sanding of steel wool, plus some scratches (done with a file while the paint was drying). I plan to do some black misting and a black wash to add a bit more depth. This was my first time using liquid masking, and I think it worked out well.
Base coat: Rustoleum Silver
Green: Krylon Italian Olive Satin misted with Rustoleum "Painter's Touch" Hunt Club Green
Yellow (knees): Krylon Bauhaus Gold
To do the yellow on the dents (the outline of the silver) I mixed some Lemon Yellow craft paint with a bit of Burt Sienna and Black to get a khaki-yellow colour.
The knees have the silver and yellow, but I need to finish them with more misting (black or dark brown perhaps). If anyone has good reference pics of the ESB knees, I'd appreciate seeing them.

nice work, brother! on the knees, there is so little reference on them, makes it difficult to get it right...i may be able to find a thread with some pics...give me a few to dig it up...;)

Lookin good JD!
Don't forget the black scuffs on the right side of the ab plate, and don't be afraid to mist some grime over some of the raised edges.... ;)

Looking good so far Doug! when you get that centre chest diamond don't forget, it's a slightly different shade of green (as far as I can tell)

I already sent this info to Doug, but as far as I can tell not much new reference for the ESB knees has appeared since I noted their similarity to the PrePro #3 suit five years ago! The only newer/higher res photos I could find are here:
Hallway_06
Carbon Chamber 22
PP1 09

unless of course there are some new photos I've missed in the last few years, but as a long time ESB-er I've come not to expect much new stuff

Looking great, Doug! Seeing as we're only a 2 hour drive away from each other, maybe I'll have the privilege of seeing your suit in person sometime...

Thanks for all the feedback guys. It's much appreciated. I'm hoping to get the knees finished on the weekend, then I'll post some updates.
