You may have too much vest showing below the ab plate. ..........I am at work so I don't have time to inspect it much.

My recommendation as bad as it may seem...is to repaint the diamond and right chest plate. The plates aren't all the same color....it should look like they're mismatched.

EXCELLENT! Ony thing i see is there should only be about 1/2" of vest under the armor, BUT i dont think that will cause an issue for basic clearance. Its also an easy fix..quick trip to the seamstress and your golden. Also separte the pouches more on the belt the space between the left and right ones should be larger which should also move the pouches outward so you can see the cod more. Maybe add a touch more overall weathering on the armor.

EDIT: ...to add to what F4R said....add the grey weathering more on that right chestplate along with more overall weathering and it should do the job without having to repaint it. The center diamond should be a different color than the armor as F4R mentioned.

But thats a sweet looking build and you carry it excellently!

As for the vest, a lot depends on your height. Take me for example. I am 6'4" and I had a vest made to my measurements, but once I had all the armor on, there was about 3 inches of vest underneath the ab plate. I would recommend talking to memebers of your garrison to see if they will let it fly as is before you get it tailored. When I submitted my pics for approval, I tucked about 2 inches of the vest underneath to get it to look better. I let my garrison advisor know about the vest. I sent my vest to Arkady last week for her to master it a bit and I should have it back next week.

I agree about the vest but a rather easy fix :-)

Hey Lou thanks so much for all your help! I have two accounts here and the other account you probably know better is Ordin.

I will work on the diamond as well but I think to the eye it is a different color because I have not dark washed it. I will do see more detail work on the armor with a paint brush and do some more dark washing as well.

Hey Lou what light gray would you recommend?

Oh and thanks for the complements :-)

By the way I ended up buying a MoW Jet pack instead of making one.

Ah yes i know that name!

JC is correct in his case because he is tall, but for you i can see that if you shorten the vest that little bit and just pull your ammo belt up a bit it will be spaced perfectly. My ammo belt sits across the top of the girth, slightly overlapping it. It is truly about the overall spacing and fit.

haha yea buying a pack is easier than making one..i can tell you that! lol MOWs may be slightly undersized and have some inaccuracies, if your going for UBER accuracy, but its a solid, well made pack and many use them and they really do look great when all done up. Ive used one for years. Great pack, you'll love it.

Looks good and fits you great. Take the advise and recommendations the guys gave and you are ready to rock. Awesome job getting it together. Enjoy
@darthvoorhess @Fett4reaL Thanks for the heads up and sharing your thoughts, It helped me out as well. I never really noticed the grey weathering needed on the right chest plate until you guys mentioned it. I took a look at the ESB reference photos and clearly saw what you guys were talking about on the upper corners, lower corner and around the emblem.

So now, I as well need to add this change to my armor. What do you recommend dark grey wash with windex mist to get this done?

Always happy to help any way i can

I dont have a recent thread of any paint ups, but i do have a pic of a set of armor i did recently if that helps.. I beleive i used grey 106 to do the grey on the right chest by the emblem and corners.

    Thanks Lou,

I weathered the armor a bit more and then did some wire wall work to give multiple tones, I will have to post some images it is looking Goooood. I also repainted the diamond a different green...

    :-)

Mont here are a few things to help you out...first let me link a blown up canon ESB image...

    canon-png

Now let me link a blown up image of your frontal with some highlighted problem areas.

    errors-png

For the red square the button is supposed to be on the fourth from the left pouch not the sixth (examine canon image)

For the pink square 501st standards state the pouches are to be velcroed to the back of the ammo pouch (which I think you did). However, they should not appear higher than the ammo pouch (see canon image)..

For the blue square...the girth belt is not to be higher than the ammo pouch (see canon image)

For the yellow square...WTF is this (is it a belt buckle?)...its not supposed to be here, so if you need it make it not visible.

Other things...dirty your spikes and soles more.....they are very white (or clean metallic).

Post the rear photos so we can help your rear and jetpack look as well.

i was actually going to ask what that buckle was behind the ammo belt lol. I was just curious, but yes, if you need, it like CrumDum said, make sure it stays hidden. The pouches dont HAVE to be velcroed to the back of the ammo belt..you can attch them however you want, but the attachment should be completely hidden behind the pouches. I had mine on my old belt screwed on using the male part of a snap like a washer (that belt had wood blocks in the pouches) The other end of that snap was on a loop sewn around 2 strands of the girth (2nd and 3rd from the top) so i could attach the ammo belt to the girth and nothing slides down I also have 3 snaps on my girth to attach it to the jumpsuit so that doesnt slide down either. Works very well and is completely hidden.

Looking very good man! Several small details that shouldn't take long at all to refine. Gotta be nice to be this close to being done.

just seeing that buckle in the front.........is that the girth belt? The girth belt buckles should be around back if it is.

See that is what happens when you have a buddy taking pictures that does not know to move something out of the way that is not supposed to be there. ;-)

Yes that is a belt buckle that is holding up the hip pockets, it should have been hidden by the ammo belt but it must have slipped down a bit. I think I am going to use some Velcro to hold a few things in place on the belt.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, it is SOOooooo nice to be close to finishing the costume. It has taken me a year to do this.

Thanks Crumdum for really looking at my setup and providing me some constructive criticism.

Yes those pouches are velcroed in, I will move one of the pouches around to have the button in the right place... did not notice that :-)

I will align the belts a bit better with some straps and Velcro to hide everything when I troop.

Yeap, that is a belt buckle :-)

I will dirty those boots up some more as well.
