    Jun 15, 2013, 6:36 PM - Mullreel's ROTJ SE WIP #1

Ok so the time has come that I need to start a WIP thread to keep me moving along. I have accumulated most of the parts needed........and a few extras.

    So far the list is:
    armor Bobamaker
    Helmet Bobamaker
    Helmet Asok FP Budget Boba
    Helmet Asok FP GMH
    flight suit Bobamaker
    boots MOW
cape army half shelter made by me
    vest Bobamaker
    vest Batninja
    neck seal Batninja
girth belt Centaur dyed by me
    ammo belt 99cent taco
jet pack RS Props....currently painted for my Jango in Kamino colors
    gauntlets Unknown fiberglass

I will be doing as much of the painting as I can. So a big thanks goes out to Rafal and his templates right off the bat.

Here is my start on the paint. I am using layering and topical. Of course these are far from done.

So I hope to be posting progress as I get some work done.

    Thanks

and just a btw on the helmets I plan to be a complete psycho and do a ROTJ, ESB and a PrePro 2...........of course the PP2 will go on the GMH. I think the ROTJ will go on the Boba Maker and the ESB will go on the Budget kit.

Went ahead and picked up a helmet that was already painted so now I have to get a move on with the armor painting and assembly.

I still have the other helmets that I will be painting up, hopefully with the temps dropping a bit in the fall I will be able to get some real work done.

Ok I am bumping my WIP progress thread so that it will prompt me to work on it...............it is tough to find time to work on my hobbies, but I am going to find some time before the end of the year.

Ok........just acquired a RS Props jet pack. I now have all the major parts needed to finish this thing out. Just need some time to paint and sew.

Hey it's only been a year........don't judge me.

So here is some work on the jet pack. I am going to have to redo the symbols. I got ahead of myself and started black washing before they were dry enough, but it isn't a big fix.

picked up another flight suit from the cargo hold and it fits perfectly......so that saves me some sewing and tailoring time. Now I hope I can get some time to finish this thing up.

    Things needed....
    touch up and finish paint
finish assembly on gaunts and attach hoses
    overall weathering
attach neck seal to flight suit
and the other minor things that come up with final fit and finish.......

    Things to still aquire.....
    Jet pack harness
    Rifle

Ok a couple of pics.......still tons of work to do but I hate WIP threads without some pic updates.

Things I noticed immediately upon trying on.....
    utility pouches need dye
    lots of weathering needed
    put gauntlet rocket on
finish paint on knees and attach straps
possibly raise waist of flight suit to raise thigh pockets.

but I can see the finish line.

The trickiest part is getting the jetpack just right with your harness. What are you using for your harness? Took me an entire afternoon to get mine right.

right now I just have a cheapo harness, but I probably won't use it unless it is an emergency. I hope to pick up a metal or 3D printed harness in the near future.

I know it took me a while with Jango to get it where I wanted it.

Looking good! The bottoms of the knees look to be sticking out a wee bit, might just be the angle of the picture though!

no they are not attached right now.........they are just attached with velcro for the picture. It is far from a done project, this was just a quick suit up to see how far along I am and how much I have to go.

I still need to put some paint on the knees and shoulders both........which I am going to try and do in about 30 minutes if the kids allow it.....
