FD,
Looks great, though I think the "piano keys" and not the strip underneath are only red.;)

Looks good man... as for the beacon..you should paint the top portion black as was done in the movie.

I thought they weren't completely sure as to the top of the beacon and if it was painted or not. It shows up as darkened and rusty in some displays. Not doubting, just clarifying.

I opened a discussion here about it about two months ago..and as when everyone gave thier opinions, it was agreed that it was.. From various screen shots and such you can definately see it was colored.

Hi guys, I have just recently ordered my MoW JP as well. I was thinking of a possibility for attaching the rocket . Now, I don't even have mine so I haven't seen exactly how the rocket sits in there.

Is it possible to attach elastic to base of the rocket, then attach that elastic to the bottom of the pack? My idea is that it will keep the rocket secure and upright, but if it gets knocked into, it'll have some "give" and won't break off. Plus you could detach it for transport.

I've also been trying to think of a cheap system for putting an O2 tank in the pack for little bursts of steam out of the thrusters. My friend has a fire extinguisher refill service, I want to see what the possibilities are with those. maybe you could hit a gauntlet switch to activate it, or have it timed so that it bursts out once every so many minutes.

I'm all done babbling.

well, more than a month later, i have gotten some more work on my pack...i have done the yellow caps on top of the fuel tanks, and the yellow on the rocket as well...i have also begun the damage also, by first painting the main silver areas, then i will go back and kind of scratch them off, to where its not just a big silver area...(y) i have also taken some of the red off of the piano keys, so i kind of like the effect i got when doing that...oh well, let me know what you think of the keys now...:)

would like to say thanks to slave1pilot for posting up some of his progress in threads for people to reference!! :cheers

here are the pics....let me know whatcha think fellas! :)

thanks guys!! :cheers

well, after posting up the pics with the main silver damage applied topically, i waited for the paint to dry, and took some 0000 grade steel wool, lightly sanded and scraped those areas, and made those areas look more like scratch marks...i am VERY pleased with the way i was able to get that effect by doing this topically with this method...(y) i was unsure of how to be albe to do this, since i was painting topically, but i think it has turned out well so far...

i also did some of the damage on the piano keys as well...

let me know what ya think...:)
