MLC vs. BM Jet Packs - opinions and comparisons

Cool,
very nice work
To be fair to MLC, here's a pic I cropped together with the MLC version 2 and your BM pack side by side

Hey slave1pilot, is it possible to do another cropping and put the MLC1 next to the MLC2 ya have? I'd definitely like to see how those look side by side.:jet pack:jet pack:jet pack
Scott,
Christi posted pics of my packs in this thread
http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showthread.php?t=13287
They are real pics, not photoshopped, side by side
I used to have a bunch of comparison pics, but my hard drive crashed & they are gone forever

Yes back on topic.

Not sure about the JP rocket. Is it hollow??? Thrusters as well???? Are both versions with hollow rockets??? :confused

I can tell ya the MLC1 thrusters and thruster balls are hollow. The BM thrusters are also hollow, but I am not sure if the thruster balls are hollow as well.

Here's a little more data I can throw out: rocket weight:
MLC1: 7.0 oz (9.3% of :jet pack weight.)
BM: 12.3oz (12.8% of :jet pack weight)

I don't know if the either rocket is hollow or not, but I can say those numbers are pretty good. Reason I say that is because my 2nd jet pack had a weight of 8 lbs 14 oz, and 2 lbs 5 oz were in the rocket (26.1% of :jet pack weight.) That :jet pack was very top-heavy and would move around quite a bit while just walking with it on. I remember I got hit in the back of the head a few times with that thing.

IMHO, ya should avoild a top-heavy :jet pack. Both the MLC1 and BM :jet packs aren't top-heavy, so ya don't have to worry about them moving around while ya troop.

The MLC2 isn't top heavy either, the MLC2 pack falls right in between the MLC1 and BM in the weight. It's somewhere around 5lbs. It wasn't a noticble difference between it and the MLC1 when wearing it.

But ya already posted pics of it in the TDH Image Gallery.;)

A used one???? Wouldn't a used one mean already painted? If so, $350 ain't gonna do it. I'm pretty sure I saw somebody auction off a painted MLC2 in The Cargo Hold, and it went for $1k. On the contrary, it is possible to get an unpainted MLC :jet pack for the amount you're talkin' about.

The person that will shut ya up will probably be a mod!:lol:eek::lol:

A grand for a used and yes painted jet pack?No thanks, I'd just strip the paint off anyway as it wouldn't match my customs colors. I didn't think fiberglass jet packs being sold painted for a couple hundred bucks was a rarity. What I really want is a new one so I don't have to strip it down to repaint-that just sucks having to do that...

Sorry to weasel in on your action Predatormy

My apologies, but I dont think I got your email. I dont want you to think that I'm ignoring you nor saying that I dont like your painting skills.
I always respond to all my emails (sometimes a bit late), but I always respond.

Again, I'm sorry.

Hey Mardon I sent you a PM and an E-mail about the painting. (I sent the PM before I saw you say to send an e-mail.)
