Thanks for posting those pics Seeker. Something that I just noticed: There is piano key molding on the classic JP, but if you look at all the ref shots from C2, this is missing. As far as my harness goes, it should work with any JP. It is just a matter of securing the straps to a strong attachment point. As soon as the prototype stubby is finished we'll get a signup list up.

Here is my latest email from Mardon:
"Since Vince was kind enough to send me his prototype JP harness, I took the liberty of integrating it to both (Boba & Jango) JPs.
In one pic, you would see that I cut 2 slits above the jet pack and glued 2 FG u-bars below the interior of the JP for the straps to hold on to.

The u-bars could be anything like a d-ring that could be glued inside the JP - it could either be plastic or metal.
I decided to go this route to make the interior of the JP still usable for storage, rather than gluing a thick wooden dowel running across the interior of the JP - naturally, this could be done also. However, my main consideration was making the interior usefull as an option.
With this design, the straps is againts the sides of the interior eating no space whatsoever.
Fact is, you could also get away by just having the 2 slits on the JP - just pass the straps thru & tie a knot on the end bigger than the slit.
Its a lazy man's attempt - but it'll do :)"

People, we are ready to go! The stubby JP is almost complete & I have materials on hand to build the harnesses. One change has been made though. Because it was going to cost me too much to import these from Mardon & it is more expensive for me to ship to the US, we agreed that this should fall back into Rex's lap. This will keep the price the same where if I handled it, I would have had to pass on the extra shipping & taxes to you guys. I will still handle the harnesses & beacons directly. You can see pics of these at www.stellardesigns.ca & you can contact me directly through there. Note that the harness pics on my site are of an earlier version. I have since made a few minor revisions & am using stronger materials so it can support older, heavier jet packs!

So let's follow suit with what has already been estabished, two runs of 5 JP's:

1st run
1) BKBT
2) Seeker
3) Sith Camaro
4) Gater
5) Nerf Herder
2nd run
6)
7)
8 )
9)
10)

Rex, let me know if I have missed anything!

I have a question, will the slits and U-bars modification be integrated in the 2nd run of Boba and first run of Jango packs?? It would be cool if at least the slits be allready cut for the next run of packs.

Hiya Folks,

Since Vince(BKBT) was kind enough to send me his prototype harness, I integrated his harness design to my very own classic JP. Since both Classic and Stubby JPs have similar rear & interior designs, naturally it would work.

Vince - I would suggest you post the pics I sent ya to this thread rather than just "The stubby interest thread", so folks who have questions or other ideas concerning both the classic & stubby packs could post here.

The integration is a simple 'coin bank' slits on top of the JP & by gluing U-bars (plastic, metal or cloth) below the front side interior to loop the straps on.
My consideration was to design a simple solution while still making the interior usefull for "storage" purposes...and at the same time still saving weight rather than placing a thick wooden dowel running across the JP to loop the straps on.

We cant cut the slits on production JPs as others may have their own different harness/designs, but we could add loose FG U-bars (you glue yourselves) if you need 'em :)
Cutting slits & gluing u-bars takes only mere minutes, that anyone could easily do.

Hope this answers some of your questions.

Nice work guys!

BKBT, you got mail!

Mardon, now I know that everyone agrees that the one or two main things that make a Mandalorian a Mandalorian, is his bucket and his JP. But hell dude, you can't just leave your mannequin just 'hanging' like that...without protection...! LOL!

Stay safe.

Tim.

Looks great guys!!! What a perfect mixture of two superb pieces!!

Put me down for the "upgrade" of the FG U-bars!!

:)

I'm curious, how does the lower part of the jet pack stay snug against the harness against the lower back?
