I would say probably around $280 plus shipping- at least that is the price for his classic jet pack.
Will it have the angled pieces on the thruster housing? I don't know exactly what they are called?
I'll be working on the details with Mardon in the next week or two. Do you have a pic of these angled pieces? Are you referring to the hexagonal posts where the thrusters on the classic JP are attached?
The little blue angled pieces on the thruster housings. One's a triangle, and the other two look like squares with one side slanted.
Here's some pics Mardon just sent Rex of the first five JP's he's done.

Looking very nice :)
Are these still with Mardon? When should we expect them to arrive stateside and then arrive at our doorsteps? :)
Dibs on the middle one,
Phil
i want one! how much! and what is the ordering info?

I'm so happy for all of you, from manufacturer, to distributor, to recipient. This has been an awesome contribution to the hobby.
Being the proud soon to be owner of one of those babies I agree with MMM that this has been a great contrubution to the hobby not only the fact that it is a little cheaper and lighter but that it comes from the same guy who is tryin to make great Fett parts for us all at a reasonable price. Not to say that others have had high prices because they could its just that this artist happen to have better resources and can make things for cheaper which is good for all of us. Thanks artist, and to the board member who is serving as a liason for this project. (You know who you are)
Thanks for the kind words :)
The first five are due to ship out Monday in a huge wooden crate. When they arrive, I'll pack them in sturdy boxes w/ loving care...
:)
I'll buy sturdy white shipping boxes, styrofoam packing peanuts, ship US Priority Mail, Insured, Confirmation Delivery
Jet Pack pricing info-
JP is $280-
Shipping from Mardon to me is $40-
Shipping from me to everyone else,is a guess at $20 or so.
Until the first batch arrives...then I can give total pricing, instead of a lame-o guesstimate...
:)
And Phil, you got the second one!!
:lol
take care all,
-Rex
Whoa! Awesome packs, just imagine the Mandalorian Army you can make with those :D
Mardon, would you mind considering a trade? My ESB JP for one of yours? LMK Thanks -
Sorry for the long delay, but I finally received a pulled prototype classic JP that we'll use to convert to the stubby.
Will have pics of the mock-up w/in a few days.
Mardon
Just got my beacon so I am ready for this puppy!
*** See my List post to find out who got the next FREE set of chest armor...***
:)
A spot in the first five opened up, so we moved everyone up one.
:)
We're trying to send Jet Packs in batches of five, to cut shipping costs. So if you're on the list, try and get payment out, and those jet packs will be winging your way soon!
:D
Thanks
take care all,
-Rex
The first five jet packs have shipped from Mardon today. They should arrive here in the next two weeks, then I'll ship 'em out to their owners!
:D
Just got these from Mardon for your perusal. The dental molding detail will be eliminated on the production run. How does it look so far?

The main nose cone & thrusters will be shipped loose inside. The side thrusters will be molded in place.
If the pics don't show up in a little while I'll move them to a different host.
Pictures are not showing up. :(
Nope, pictures are not working. By the way, can your harness be used with Mardons classic jet pack?? Can you post a picture of it or a link??
I am getting one of his classic jet packs and will be needing one soon. :)
Thanks
Juan Manuel
I think it looks good so far! Unfortunately, I am going to have to pass on this one now. I wasn't anticipating getting a new helmet yet but since I got that project in the works, and since I can use a nicer helmet, more than I can use 2 jet packs, I have to wait on this one :( Plus with all the cool goodies out there right now to put in my helmet, I'm gonna be out of $$$.
I was also thinking about using one of your harnesses for Mardon's classic pack if it will work.

Thanks for posting those pics Seeker. Something that I just noticed: There is piano key molding on the classic JP, but if you look at all the ref shots from C2, this is missing. As far as my harness goes, it should work with any JP. It is just a matter of securing the straps to a strong attachment point. As soon as the prototype stubby is finished we'll get a signup list up.
Here is my latest email from Mardon:
"Since Vince was kind enough to send me his prototype JP harness, I took the liberty of integrating it to both (Boba & Jango) JPs.
In one pic, you would see that I cut 2 slits above the jet pack and glued 2 FG u-bars below the interior of the JP for the straps to hold on to.
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...tharness.3.jpg
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...tharness.4.jpg
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...tharness.5.jpg
The u-bars could be anything like a d-ring that could be glued inside the JP - it could either be plastic or metal.
I decided to go this route to make the interior of the JP still usable for storage, rather than gluing a thick wooden dowel running across the interior of the JP - naturally, this could be done also. However, my main consideration was making the interior usefull as an option.
With this design, the straps is againts the sides of the interior eating no space whatsoever.
Fact is, you could also get away by just having the 2 slits on the JP - just pass the straps thru & tie a knot on the end bigger than the slit.
Its a lazy man's attempt - but it'll do :-)"
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...tharness.6.jpg
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...tharness.7.jpg
People, we are ready to go! The stubby JP is almost complete & I have materials on hand to build the harnesses. One change has been made though. Because it was going to cost me too much to import these from Mardon & it is more expensive for me to ship to the US, we agreed that this should fall back into Rex's lap. This will keep the price the same where if I handled it, I would have had to pass on the extra shipping & taxes to you guys. I will still handle the harnesses & beacons directly. You can see pics of these at www.stellardesigns.ca & you can contact me directly through there. Note that the harness pics on my site are of an earlier version. I have since made a few minor revisions & am using stronger materials so it can support older, heavier jet packs!
So let's follow suit with what has already been estabished, two runs of 5 JP's:
1st run
1) BKBT
2) Seeker
3) Sith Camaro
4) Gater
5) Nerf Herder
2nd run
6)
7)
8 )

10)
Rex, let me know if I have missed anything!
Will there definately be a 3rd batch?
I hope so! I need a ESB jet pack ;)
Put me down baby!!!:D
No harnest thank you.
I have a question, will the slits and U-bars modification be integrated in the 2nd run of Boba and first run of Jango packs?? It would be cool if at least the slits be allready cut for the next run of packs.
Hiya Folks,
Since Vince(BKBT) was kind enough to send me his prototype harness, I integrated his harness design to my very own classic JP. Since both Classic and Stubby JPs have similar rear & interior designs, naturally it would work.
Vince - I would suggest you post the pics I sent ya to this thread rather than just "The stubby interest thread", so folks who have questions or other ideas concerning both the classic & stubby packs could post here.
The integration is a simple 'coin bank' slits on top of the JP & by gluing U-bars (plastic, metal or cloth) below the front side interior to loop the straps on.
My consideration was to design a simple solution while still making the interior usefull for "storage" purposes...and at the same time still saving weight rather than placing a thick wooden dowel running across the JP to loop the straps on.
We cant cut the slits on production JPs as others may have their own different harness/designs, but we could add loose FG U-bars (you glue yourselves) if you need 'em :)
Cutting slits & gluing u-bars takes only mere minutes, that anyone could easily do.
Hope this answers some of your questions.
Mardon
Fettheads,
I swear this prop maker is a genius! Mardon, again, awesome ideas and work! ;)

Nice work guys!
BKBT, you got mail!
Mardon, now I know that everyone agrees that the one or two main things that make a Mandalorian a Mandalorian, is his bucket and his JP. But hell dude, you can't just leave your mannequin just 'hanging' like that...without protection...! LOL!
Stay safe.
Tim.
Hey Mardon, don't forget about my stubby pack!
No harness.
great looking harness :cheers
i can see bobas bare butt though :lol
Hahahahaha! :lol - sorry about the "bare" bottom, guys! Now he aint got nothin' to hide! :)
BKBT - thanks for posting the pics man!
Halo - thanks for the vote of confidence, appreciate it!
Yup, BKBT's harness rocks! Give him a buzz to order. Comes complete with all the hardware you need.
Mardon
Looks great guys!!! What a perfect mixture of two superb pieces!!
Put me down for the "upgrade" of the FG U-bars!!
:)
I'm curious, how does the lower part of the jet pack stay snug against the harness against the lower back?
We will never turn someone away who wants a jet pack!Quote:
Blastech wrote:

:)
I would suggest using the low tech solution of a velcro strip on the lower part of the JP & backplate. I was thinking about adding a clip here but I think that the buckle might dig in your back. The velcro wouldn't be noticable & as long as the backplate is securely held the JP shouldn't shift around.
It seems like it, eh Rex?
Honestly, there's nothing on the lower JP that holds to the harness - what you see on the pics is the weight of the JP and its rear contour giving you the illusion of hugging the back.
I can already see that designing the rear armor backplate would be a pain :)
Mardon
Wow, I thought that the back of the jet pack was secured in place. Never thought that it was hold in place by it's owne weight.
By the way Mardon, can I also have the U-bar upgrade in my jet pack?? :)
Hmmm, never thought of velcro! Sounds like a plan, I'll give it a try.
:)
I have a backplate as well, so it should still work? There's two openings at the top for the clips, and the bottom has a large opening...
Hi Rex, I already started a signup list here: http://tdh.prop-planet.com/viewtopic...c=4861&forum=6
Mods, could we please combine these two threads?
ah heck, I guess I just didn't read far enough down those posts...!!!
I'll just go back and edit mine...
:o
Looks good to me BKBT!!
Im not sure I understand how the "U" bars hold the strap in at the bottom of the JP, and how do you get the strap through?
It looks like Mardon added another set of clips. I think all I would do is to pass the strap through the U bar & rivet it back on itself. Quick & dirty! Seeker used some rivets on his JP in a similar method & as long as you use some washers the rivet won't pull through. Remember that these JP's are feather weights & come in around 4 lbs so there is not going to be alot of stress here.
Here ya go Tk-Fett:
1. Cut "coin bank" slits above the JP & glue those 2 U-bars below the front facade of the interior about 2" above the base of the JP -frankly, you could also glue the 2 u-bars on the base of the JP if you preffer - it really doesnt matter which. Just as long as the straps could be routed to pass by it.
2. Slip your strap from the "coin bank" slits, and down the interior, slip a plastic buckle (like a belt buckle), then route the strap to pass thru the U-bars & strap it back to itself using the plastic buckle.
This method will make it adjustable & dettachable if needed.
No need to use a riveter...unless you want to.
Here's a "KISS" method:
- cut slits on the JP, slip your strap & tie a knot on the strap :)
Mardon

I just want to get an official tally of names that I can add to the list. For those of you who posted earlier in the interest thread, if you could please post here or PM me, I'll add your name to the list.
One question BKBT how much for the harness?
PM sent.
Hi all.
Just a quick update to let anyone in the UK know that Mardon, Rex and I have have had a chat and agreed it would be easier and cheaper for UK buyers to deal through one contact, like Rex in the USA, but based in the UK. This eliminates 2 sets of international shipping (Mardon to Rex, Rex to UK)
So, just to let you know, any UK guys want any of the MLC range, let me know and we'll take it from there. Feel free to PM me or mail me at sianbeck@yahoo.co.uk. Prices are the same, but converted to UK£ and rounded to the nearest £5 or so for ease of calculation on our part.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Finally, thanks to Rex and Mardon for letting me help out on this!
I have duplicated this post in the Helmet thread too, so apologies for anyone who reads this twice!
Cheers.

Woooo-hooooo!
Came home from work to a Fett Day!!
A HUGE box was on my doorstep!! A box from Mardon...a box of Jet Packs!!
Oh my! What a sight it was!
The wooden crate sustained minimal damage in transit, one strut was cracked. The Jet Packs, wrapped in bubble wrap, surrounded by stryofoam peanuts made the journey safely.
:)
You cannot believe the jet packs until you see them in person.
The pics simply do not do them justice. Unpacking the rocket and thrusters from the jet pack interior- gazing at each with a widening smile... I really like the long "peg" of the rocket and thrusters that fastens inside the jet pack securely.
Very nice job Mardon! Nice? Did I say nice? Heck, they are magnificent!! (Personal bias aside...) :)
Okay, the downside...if there is one... I get off work too late to get to a packing store. :( I have plenty of styrofoam peanuts. :)
I will be hustling to get the boxes and ship them out as promised via Priority Mail, Insured, Confirmation Delivery.
My work schedule sucks as far as this is concerned. :(
My days off are Sundays and Mondays. I guarentee they will be packed into secure boxes and shipped out Monday morning.
:)
Please PM or email me w/ any questions.
And, the Fett Day continued...as I was going through the jet packs, I saw another package...I finally have the Boba boots...my very own pair of MC boots that I bought from one of our illustrious members.!
Thank you!!!
:) :)
They fit and feel great!
Now, all that remains to my Fett quest is the fabled Blaster.
Soon...
:D
take care all,
-Rex
Glad to know the JPs arrived safely! :)
Hope the first batch of Fettheads who ordered would be excited to hear those!
Better get your paints ready :)
Mardon
WHOOO-HOOOO! What GREAT news! And my paint can barely wait!:D
woo! hoo!
I am very glad for you guys of the first batch, :) any update on the production of the second run?? :D
:cheering :cheering Can't wait to get it and get started on that puppy!
We are currently doing the 3rd. JP on our second run :)
I'm looking at 1-1/2 weeks to complete all 5.
Mardon
Wow, that is fast. You run a very efficient production team, congratulations to you and your workers. :)
Count me in on this list as well :D
Excellent, that makes 5 of us so far.
Great news!
This Jango JP would be made alongside the new MLC Jango bucket!
Hope you Jango fans out there are happy to hear this :)
Mardon
Woo-hoo! It's taking off!! Mardon is ready to start blasting these out, so if you're ready grab ahold of one, PM me for the details!
:D
Jet Pack pricing for the "Arena" pack is the same as the "Classic" JP.
$280 JP + $40- Int'l shipping to me- From me to you is actual shipping costs US Priority Mail to your zone.
MO is the method of payment.
The Jet Pack 1st batch of five is ready to start. So, send in your payment, and we'll get these trick 4lb fiberglass Arena packs to you!
:D
1) BKBT
2) SEEKER
3) Sith Camaro
4) Gater
5) Nerf-Herder
The jet packs are away!
They shipped out this afternoon...I sincerly hope you like 'em!!
(I think you will!)
:)
I've been asked several times, what are the domestic shipping charges?
Actual shipping charges are whats used. Depending on what zone you live, is the rate charged. In other words, those that are on the West Coast are charged less than those on the East Coast or MidWest. US Postal System, not me...
:)
Roughly $16 - $22.50 for shipping, based on which zone...
take care all,
Enjoy the jet packs!

hey rex/mardon how many runs are going to be done total. Is there a stopping point for this item?? I want to get one of these classic JP's but am going to have to wait till about sept for it, partially due to getting mardons jango helm, and partially because i am getting married at the end of july and alot of $$$ is going there right now. Please LMK
thanks
dan
Hi Dan,
No worries! We don't plan to have a "That's it! Done!" stopping point.
Other projects come up and can push it off, but it will be there.
It's just easier to do them in batches, rather than one at a time...
:)

take care all,

hey, was there ever a decision made as to if Mardon will be making all of the jet packs with the mods for BKBT's harness? or is that something we need to do on our own?
Doug
Hi Slowmo,
I'll go as far as providing free U-bars for the JPs that could be integrated to BKBT's harness & hopefully other harnesses for that matter.
But we wont be cutting the "coin bank" slits above the JP as others may use a different harness design that would have a different measurement.....or some folks may not use a harness alltogether.
Besides, those slits could easily be added in mere minutes by a Dremel :)
Mardon
Not a problem. I had asked Rex and he couldn't remember. Thanks Mardon and I'm eagerly looking forward to getting my grubby little hands on your amazing work!
Doug
I got a jet pack, I got a jet pack! It really looks great! I was worried it would be huge for me since I'm a lot smaller than the other members here but the size is perfect! And the weight is even more perfect! The thrusters and the center rocket will have to be sanded down a little so I can get them in their holes withought trying to shove them in and breaking them ( which is something I would easily do) which is good cause they will have a nice snug fit when glued in. I haven't gone over with a fine tooth cone but I see very little clean up to do before painting this baby! Excellent work Mardon! Can't wait to get my bucket now!!!
Glad you like it Mirax :)
No need to sand 'em as they're really a tight fit - our workers constantly insert both thrusters & missile before shipping them out....and if you noticed, all of 'em where already inserted when we got the pics of the first 5.
The design consideration was to make an option of them dettach for storage purposes - but naturally it wont hurt if you preffer to glue them permanently.
Dont worry, you wont destroy 'em - just insert with a twisting motion :)
Mardon
Okey doeky. I just was afraid to try too hard- I'd really **** myself off if I screwed it up. That's actually cool- I won't glue them- it certainly would make storage and travel easier!
OH, MAN!!:D I got mine today, too! This puppy is a lightweight beauty! Also, the convenience of the access panel is by far the best innovation for the gear I have planned in packing into this. I'd like to congratulate Mardon for his superb attention to detail in this project, as well as Rex for his organization in making these packs availalbe to us. Great job, guys!:):thumbsup On that note, Rex, could you please tally me in for the third wave of these packs? I need just one more for good measure, as part of yet another Fett project (plus I gotta' keep pace with SEEKER!;):p).
Woooo-Hoooo!
Mirax and Nerf-Herder love their packs!!!
:D
I'm very happy that you enjoy the jet pack and all it's features.
:) :) :)
N-H, you've been added to the 3rd batch!
:)
Good luck in keeping up w/ Seeker!
:D :lol
take care all,

Ok gang, just finished painting mine and weathering. Just got my harness from BKBT so will be installing that as well as his beacon. Just need the jet pack symbol decals and this puppy is done! So, here's pics of my Jango MLC Jet Pack:

For the colors, all were Krylon-Dull Aluminum, True Blue, Pumpkin Orange, Burgundy, and white. Used a paint on black acrylic for the stripes and waterbased acrylic for weathering. The white areas are weathered a lot more than what is visable in the pics. This jet pack was awesome to work with!!!
Great job! It certainly looks good :)
Hope you had a blast painting it as much as we did building it!
Ely should take care of your decal needs :)
Mardon
GREAT JOB MIRAX!!!
:thumbsup :cheers
WOW!:suprise Mirax, you're getting YOUR pack done in record time! And it looks FANTASTIC, no less! :D Mine is coming along (Slowly, but surely :rolleyes)! Great job!!
Mirax, that came out gorgeous!!! :suprise
You and mlc make a hell'uva team! :)
Awesome job Mirax. I can't wait to get mine and get started on it!
I got mine in as well. What can I say? It's clean as a whistle, light as a feather, and looks just plain awesome! And no inflated price? In fact it's the same price as some and less than other fiberglass packs. If you need one, this is the way to go!
Thanks very much to Mardon for the time and energy put into this, and thanks to Rex for taking care of us stateside.
I can't wait to get her painted up ;)
Thanks guys!
Phil
I'm happy to hear that Phil.....trully appreciate your support! :)
I guess its what you call "payback" to those stuff you helped me before thru PM :)
You better show us pics of your JP when you get it done!
Mardon
Thanks for the compliments gang :D this bad boy was super easy to paint. The fact that there was no trimming, no filling, no sanding, no assembly is what allowed me to get done so quickly! Awesome stuff Mardon, can't wait for my bucket now!
Glad you liked da jet pack Phil!!
:D
And thanks man!
And glad you liked the ease of assembly Mirax!!
:D
Wanted to show how well this works with BKBT harness- just got this all set up tonight:
http://www.mirax.iwarp.com/124-2405_IMG.JPG
http://www.mirax.iwarp.com/124-2406_IMG.JPG

http://www.mirax.iwarp.com/124-2408_IMG.JPG
http://www.mirax.iwarp.com/124-2410_IMG.JPG
As you can see, I left the jet pack functional. The back plate is attached via velcro. The "u" bars are epoxied in and instead of rivets, I used snaps to keep the strap in place. Also have BKBT beacon installed too! Tried this puppy on and it feels like I'm hardly wearing anything on my back- even lighter than my paper mache jet pack. This friggen ROCKS!
Mirax, are you rushing to a convention this coming weekend or what?.....'coz you're doing everything in record time! :)
Yup, BKBT's beacon & harness does complete the JP beautifully!
Although, if i could make a suggestion.....you really need a Stubby JP! LOL!
BTW- your Jango bucket is done :)
Mardon
Mirax,
I am so totally JEALOUS!!
:D
I cannot believe your all done!!! Sheesh, you are the Flash!!
Congrats!!
:thumbsup :cheers
