Mini-Me jet pack

Sorry for not posting again until today. My wife and I took a short vacation to Sedona, Arizona. Fantastically relaxing and fun! Got back last night.

Anyway, THANKS for ALL of the great complements! It's been fun doing this. As far as painting and such, I was planning on leaving the red tubes clear and not painting them. (that's why I bought them in red). :)

Yes Stormtrooper@rushmore, that pice is a plug-in. It was the one with a small motorized fan unit. :)

I know the rocket is slightly smaller to scale also. But hey, who else other than "We the anal" (myself included when time permits) would notice. :)

I basically scaled down the plans to roughly 70% for it to fit my son. The rocket is about 60-65% scale.

I found a rocket at a hobby store that had the perfect pice and all I had to do was cut it in half and flip those to make the top part with the little fins on it. The upper most piece is a plastic propeller cone.

Water sounds cool too, thought about it but then he's only 8 yrs old. hate to have a soaked 8 yr old at C3. :)

Will post new pics when I paint it.

Thanks again for allof the nice complements!

Dude thats too cool! if you filled them with water you could run a tube to a squirt gun that you could intergrate into the left gauntlet and full the speed loaders with some ExTrEmLy flamable liquid, and then put a mini-pen tourch just past the front nozzle of the squirt gun and then when that kid gets a-squirtin' it'll be the 4th of July!!!

Well...maybe not... but it seemed like a good idea at the time!

Keep us posted on his mando progress! Thats too cool!

Thanks. He can't wait to wear it at C3. I don't know how long he'll wear the jet pack. It's a bit heavy for him. I could've used a week just in tweaking and fittng. Oh well, soon we're leaving for Indy today. Still have a ton of work to do. :)

The little guy looked awesome at C3!
It was nice meeting you guys and cool watching your son's excitement as he ran around in costume. Really made me want my boys there.

Geo, it was nice meeting you and seeing your son's gear, it was great. Although I wasn't nearly as hard core at building my son's Boba costume, I had so much fun "trooping" with him. If you ask him what his favorite part of CIII was, he'll say "everyone taking the pictures" of him. In second place was fighting Vader at the Jedi academy...

That costume ROCKS! The color combination is great. What helmet did you use? I may have to take on a similar project in the near future and threads like this are going to be a great help.

Just too COOL! Sound like he had a blast at CIII.

Thanks guys! We allhad a blast, especially Alec. Yeah it was great watching him go from complaining about how unco, fortable the costume was when we were getting ready to "getting in to it" and aiminig his guantlet laser at people and throwing poses when taking pictures. :) It was very cool having kids (and adults) wanting to take pictures with him.

It was great finally meeting everyone. Hansoloway, you guys looked great together! You goota send me a pic! Eddi it was cool hanign with you too, I definitely want you to send me a pic of your Tusken photo outside against the wall with that dramatic lighting. That was sweet!

It was a pleasure meeting both you and your son. He seemed to be having a blast posing for pics. His suit looked great. And your suit looked great as well.
