General Mid-Budget ESB built

Great work on everything so far! Just started my scratch build rotj se, your build is full of great tips and tricks, keep it up!
hope your feeling better to :)

So, as promised: some more progress...

I did some fine tuning on the connector for the gauntlet hose and colour changing on the two greeblies (because on all reference pics I could fine the backward greeblie should be red and the front greeblie should be white).:cool

First layer of black acryl paint on the gauntlet hose connector:

Then silver rattlecan spraypaint:

The paint I used for the two greeblies is acryl (easy to brush on). :)

...and I found some time to put on the first layer of humbrol masking fluid onto the shoulder armor using a synthetic brush size 2. RafalFett´s armor stencils are really helpful. First I tried to put them onto the armour marking them with a pencil, but it didn´t work that fine. So, i decided to do it freehand and that was much easier. Of course this was a little more stress (looking at the stencil, looking back to the armor, looking again to the stencil, then paint 1 or 2mm a time...:wacko ), but in the end I´m really happy with the result. (I never worked with masking fluid before.):)

More progress on the left gauntlet:

I drilled two holes through the gauntlet and into the rocket. Then two screws are glued into the rocket holes using hotglue.

Then I created the little front part (trigger) for the rocket. Therefore I drilled a small hole into the front end. For the trigger I use a small piece of the metal quill of a clothes peg, which has the correct size. This is glued into the drilled hole.

Next step will be getting the rocket into a smoother shape. There are still so much air bubbles and little holes and gaps... :wacko

Where does one get sheets of 3mm sintra??

Like mcfarlj3 said.... I bought mine (I live in germany) from a local warehouse, which sadly doesn´t exist anymore. They closed all their markets 2 months ago, but I was lucky to get some of the last ones. I also found some on Ebay, available in different colours, sizes and thickness. I´ve chosen grey and white ones, so you can better see the markings. ;)

I managed to rework the flamethrower today. Two holes I drilled on the backside of the flamethrower and on the left side of the gauntlet, where they will connect with screws. It was sanded, the holes and gaps were filled. Then some grey primer applied and some more filling done. Drilled a hole to each front part, to simulate the openings, where the "fuel" and "flame" will come out. After that it was painting and weathering time. I used red and black acryl paint and silver all brushed on. Hope you like the result.:cool

Small update: I brushed humbrol cream 103 to the shoulder and knee armor. Before taking the pictures, I already removed the humbrol masking fluid.

The right chest plate and the center diamond are masked with humbrol masking fluid. Left chest plate, belly armor, left shoulder armor, cod plate and back belt armor are already painted with humbrol yellow 154.

Now I found the right mix of humbrol paint no.76+78 in my eyes. Many thanks to all the people helping me and showing me the right direction!

The chest armor is already weathered with a black wash of acryl paint and a lot of water. The chest decal still needs to be weathered.

Here some detail pics:

Butt armor:

The decal on ESB isnt a Decal it should be painted on...rafal has a template for that...would give it more of an ESB feel then ROTJ.

Also are you planning to add browns and blacks and greys to this with something over top?
