Arms and gauntlet test fitting. I need to play around with the positioning and what not, and the gauntlets still need a ton of work, but this is the basic idea.
Man, I bought the same hands and they were no good! Now I know what to do with them. Thank you!
Slowly coming along. I had to cut off the entire right shoulder and reposition the arm, but I think I'm getting there. The arms kind of sag under the weight of the blaster, but I should be able to fix that later.
This is looking AWESOME!
I have to echo the comments. This is an awesome thread. I'm starting my build right now and this is a great road map.
Thanks guys. I think the arms are pretty much finished. I used 1" pvc fittings and a short length of pipe to attach them to the mannequin. This way they can come off If I want to remove the vest or flightsuit and they can swivel if I want to change the position. I'm pretty happy with it, what do you guys think?
You never fail Matt. It's a great pose, poised look to it.
I was able to reposition the right arm again and get him to hold the blaster a little better. This thing just looks so much cooler now, like an actual person. This is still very much a work in progress, and there is a lot more work to be done. Thanks for the encouragement, guys.
Great looking ESB Fett Matt. You did a great job!
Your skill & creativity is insanely impressive! ........ True story.
That really does look very nice.
Matty, from a selfish point of view i am sorry to see your build coming to an end, you have truly inspired me with this thread, Great build up
Love this thread. A very tidy build, your patience is really paying off.
I can't get over how natural and lifelike this is. It really does look like Jeremy Bulloch is standing in your living room.
WOW WOW WOW
That truly is a thing of beauty.
Thank you so much guys. I'm really glad you guys think it's cool. The whole idea was to make it look less like a costume on a mannequin, and more like Boba Fett just hanging out in my basement. So I think I'm on the right track. The arms were kind of a pain to get positioned right, but I think they're good now.
I got a little more painting done on the gauntlet accessories.
I gotta say this is one of my favorite ESB Fetts. Great job buddy!
Definitely need to show how you build the wooden framework of the mannequin, I've been looking for a mannequin for months for my Fett but I've been scared of them not being too strong. Besides, I don't want my Fett to be in a 'fantastic' pose as if he's modelling! This is a great thread for a mannequin too!
Thanks guys. The mannequin is actually just solid foam, no wooden structure. I did stick wooden dowels through the legs and torso for extra support though.
