Great stuff! Can't wait to see more progress mate. I'm considering doing one now as well, I'm thinking it will be cheaper than buying from BM or MLC.

What materials are you using mate?

hi mate, i am using some 2mm plastic board from the Norwich group (might even have enough for a second JP), it is really sturdy stuff yet pliable enough to bend and cut. I am also using 56mm BT ducting for the fuel cells and i got lots of that you can have. Seriously i knocked this up in just two sessions. I am usings WOF's plans and they are really simple to follow. Believe me i am not spending £200 + when i can make my own as good as this

If you want to make one i can print you off the templates and see what material i got left. I even lend a hand if you want.

I got to still make the rocket (gulp) and add the last few bits to the body but hey its almost there :)

this way i might even have my costume ready for Jeremy Bullock in November (I still don't have a back plate but i might be able to get away with that due to the jet pack).

btw got the first couple of coats of silver on the bucket and will be painting it this weekend :) :) :)

Glad to hear the bucket is coming along!

If you could sort me out some template that would be great. Any left over material you have would also be much appreciated. let me know what you want for it. I've got some acrylic for your RF as well that just needs to be cut.

Keep me updated with this mate, it looks awesome!

Well a little more progress. I have added the central tank and the extensions to one side of it (it looks a little lop sided with only one side of the body done). All in all it isn't looking too bad although it does need a lot of filling and sanding, also i need to trim the fual tank covers (they seem a little long and you can see the 'new' lines where i intend to shorten them)

That is looking GREAT!! That is moving along nicely. Can't wait to see the finished project. What thickness material are you using?

Keep up the fantastic work!!

Hi Alan

the stuff i am using is 2mm thick sign makers plastic. It is really nice as it is easy to cut but is extremely firm when put together (this thing will takes loads of knocks)

btw WoF's templates can be found at; (for those of you who have asked :) )
