Whatto, been lurking here for ages and admiring some fine work. Decided to introduce myself and say hi to all. I've decided I need to build an ESB Boba. My life won't be complete without one. I know research will be key (measure twice, cut once and all that) and being an Englishman I imagine the highly lauded Bobamaker will be featuring heavily for me, already ordered some stuff actually. Anyway, looking forward to chatting with you all as I work on this for the next few years of my life.

Welcome to TDH! Bobamaker is an excellent choice and you'll find others too from UK, Europe and even from US and other places (listed in this order only because of the given distances, not as a clasification with the best makers) to work with.

Good hunting!

Just got my first package through from Bobamaker. I've started off with the soft parts of Flightsuit, flak jacket and gloves. I think from here on I'm going to work from the feet upwards towards completion. It seems as good a method as any. My budget means this will take years anyway so I'll not be iin any hurry and I'd rather just go for quality first time and wait it out. The quality of the workmanship is excellent. The quality of stitching and finishing is top rate and to be recommended. Real love effort and attention has gone into this. I'm so excited now I'm moving forward.

Now I'm on the move, here isa my first question to you guys if you'd be so kind:

It's about Girth belts and is in two parts. I have read the sticky on dying but was hoping you guys might be able to add more:
I've acquired a girth Belt and wish to make it the ESB colour. This seems to be more a brown than the ROTJ red? COuld anyone comment on the colouring. Looks a rusty brown to me. Secondly I'd like to know thoughts on the actual colouring process. The belt is synthetic so obviously won't take dye too well. I see that some have applied spray paint instead. Anyone that's tried more than one method could comment on which works out best?

Thanks

Andy
