Let's start an "Official" Flamethrower thread

Not really bruv, but from the pics I see a 2 stepped block?

The "REAL" question is, if it's a flame thrower, where is the fuel coming from without a hose or any other connections? LOL Just kidding. Great discussion so far!

sorry guys...not in front of my personnal computer right now, so I can't explain this without pics really.. :facepalm..I will when I get home...

Basically the flame thrower itself is already mounted on a black plate (for lack of a better word), that black plate extends on the topside of the gauntlet...and sticks out, we see it all the time in most shots...it's basically one piece.

But if you look at the Black and White Kurtz photo, you will see that something makes an L shape against the inside of the Gauntlet and it's not Black, it's more toward the front of the guantlet, in the middle of the flame thrower rods and the gauntlet . (someone please post that pic:()
Well thats the Second plate and is what is flush with the Gauntlet, and is what the flame thrower sits on.. with the two pics that already have been posted it shows the White or Silver, whatever color, plate that the entire flamethrower sits on..and is seen on the screen shot Shinobi_Fett posted,,,,well that is what is making that L shape..it's the same plate..... two plates.(y)

I know, not making any sense without better photos:cry.......I'll post them I promise.

This picture... see the L shape....well thats the plate, and it runs down the side of the gauntlet and is what makes the White/ Silver plate that the Black plate of the Flame thrower sits on.....again I just pullled this pic from another thread so excuse the lack of good pics..(y)

Are what molex connectors? The back part, which I previously thought silver metal, I now see is black, and does indeed look like some type of plastic electronic piece, maybe those wires coming out are really originally from it? Not too sure... Has anyone asked the original builders what it was made from?

can't make out much in this pic, other than something is bend in a way that i haven't seen before. i have a hard time making out the 2 plates.

that's kinda what I was thinking the holes pointed to/asked about were from so that makes sense.

Could be molex connectors....but it amost looks like they are connected in the middle??? I wanna lean towards that black section in the back with the holes in it as being a single unit, but its hard to say. I have always though it was an electrical component as suggested by others. It is noticable though that the 3 silver blocks may be attached on the top. They don't seem like they sit on there very strait.
D

yep, the silver blocks are not straight, the one in the center is pretty straight, the one to the left and the right seem to be angled at the same degree.

And what do we think the "tubes" are that make up the unit? there's aluminum looking ones, and then others that in some shots look copper, and other they look red. The reddish look could be from the color-corrected film version. The production still very clearly look copper, the same tone as the gauntlet missile headpiece. The screen caps in the dinner hall make those tubes look red.

not being attached well is a good possibility, Jeremy could have bumped into something with the gauntlet during filming or dressing or it could have happened just in the packing and unpacking of the costume.

That might not be to far from the truth... during the JB Project we had to remove the inside greeblie on the gun, as once Jeremy had the helmet on and couldn't see much he rested the butt of the gun against his belt and Abe plate......chipping some paint off :facepalm..of coarse we repainted it before we shipped it.
Point being that there are plenty of shots were he has stuff on wrong, knees upside down, or gauntlet about to come off... so I'm sure there was some minor damage on certain parts from scene to scene or from photo shoot to photo shoot. (y)

I wonder if that could account for any of the "weathering" on the ab plate?

Wow, this post gets interesting everyday...
once the smoke clears I wonder if we'll all be wanting a new and improved
FT run:confused
