Ladysewforus Flightsuit Run* New Run 1/05/09

    Hey All,
I'm ready to start a new run of flightsuits. I am going to do 5 and I am going to give a turnaround time if 6-8 weeks. PM me if you are interested.

    ****NOTE*****
I have people that want to be on hold, so I am opening this up to more than 5.

    1. usmcrice0311-awaiting payment
    2. Crimson Phoenix-awaiting payment
    3. cr4anky- awaiting payment- on hold until Feb
    4. godaking- paid-in progress-shipped 1/27
    5. chibi fett- awaiting payment
    6. Dankenman-paid-shipped 1/31
    7. cupluv-paid-shipped 2/4
    8. Christian-paid-in progress

    Hey all,
We have been doing our flightsuits an order at a time for a while but we thought that we would do a run and see how it goes. Halloween is over so the pressure from our friends and family is off so now is a good time . These are the Boba flightsuit in a light blue/grey color. The fabric and the pockets are all ready to go so turn around should be 4-6 weeks baring any major catastrophy. The price is $175 + $15 shipping US. If you are outside the US PM me and I'll figure out shipping. I have fabric and pockets ready for five suits so thats what we are starting with. We have a fab tutorial on how to get your correct measurements on Ladysewforus.com.

    1. AndrewRP-paid-in progress- shipped 12/05/08
    2. Sparky Ern-paid-in progress- shipped 11/20/08
    3. Flettch-paid-in progress-shipped 12/03/08
    4. stormshadow2100-paid-in progress- shipped
    5. GreenGriffon-paid- in progress-shipped
    6. 22ssplt-paid-in progress-shipped

And the run is closed. I will get these out, and make up some more pockets and announce another run, maybe right before or after Christmas. Thanks everbody!

    Thanks, Carole/Arkady

Thanks Everyone, Carole has been making the majority of the flightsuits for quite a long time now. She is just now deciding to break out of hiding.

I am very glad she is now here with me!! My partner in crime!

You should see what she can do. I need to get some more of here pics up on the website, she made the most awesome flapper dress for her daughter for Halloween, without a pattern.

Yes, I think she is great can you tell?

Quick question. I currently have one of skygunbro's excellent flightsuits. Unfortunately for me I recently took some damage to it around the shin tool pockets which resulted in a complete rip around the leg. What is the thickness of the material you use like? Is it stronger/more durable than the seemingly lightweight sgb suit?

    Re: Ladysewforus Flightsuit Run

I have not personally seen a sgb suit, so I can't really compare, but our fabric is 100% cotton twill and it's pretty thick stuff. I would say its about the thickness of Dickies, if that helps. And our suits come with the double zipper, not sure if anyone elses do.

Carole, this is Daniel, Daniel meet Carole

I am sure you two will eventually meet.

Carole, Daniel is local and Mark and him have become fast friends.

And just to make it clear, no one is lessening the greatness of the SGB suits, he was the gold standard for suits, as long as he was sewing them. Many ppl were not happy about that retirement!

    Kudos to you Jason!!

A buddy of mine has a SGB suit which is nice, and I have the LSFU suit. Mine is made of thicker material. This is nice and will hold up longer, but it is hotter when I wear it.

She put it in the correct place.

    Runs and Interest Threads
If you plan to produce a limited run of an item and also plan to post an interest thread and/or sign-up list, do not post them in The Cargo Hold. Instead, post the interest thread/sign up list thread in the forum that is most closely related to the item that is for sale (example: post your interest thread for a run of rocket pack thrusters in the Rocket Pack forum). The Cargo Hold is intended for items that are available for immediate sale or trade, not future projects in which the item has yet to be created or completed.

    Thanks Gentlemen!!

Flettch, Carole is out of town right now. But I think she told me she is finished or very
closed to finished with the flightsuit and I have finished the Vest, Neckseal and Belt pouches.

It will probably ship by Tuesday, after Carole returns.

I read that the suits are thicker than SGB's. What weight fabric, where can I get some? What do I ask for when I got to a fabric store? Thanks for the info.

    Re: Ladysewforus Flightsuit Run

You should look for a 100% cotton twill material. It should have the feel of a pair of pants, for example, like Dickies work pants.

It is not always easy to find the combination of the right color and the right fabric.
If it is 100% cotton, you can dye it to the color you would like.

I just purchased our next bolt of fabric and it will not be quite as heavy.
There are benefits and drawbacks to either light or heavy fabric.

Heavy fabric, is much hotter to troop in, but may last longer. Heavier fabric is cool and more comfortable for trooping, but may not last as long.

It is really a matter of opinion. But everyone stays with cotton because it is screen accurate, easy to dye if needed and it breathes, it is much more comfortable.

Thanks for the info. My current suit is a set of olive drab Army surplus mechanics coveralls with pouches added. Not exactly ideal, but it served the purpose. I know my costume is pitiful compared to some, but I'm still at it. Almost three years now and counting.

I'm in the never-ending process of upgrading here and there. Gauntlets and jumpsuit are items #1 & #2 for the foreseeable future.

Wish I had more costume parts assembled to show off with my suit, but here are a couple of shots from my "test fitting".

These are my very first pics of what will eventually be my ESB Fett

I would absolutely agree. I bought a Flightsuit, Neckseal, Vest and Spats from them and LOVE them.

NO worries we made 2 suits though one lightweight one for the guys trooping in the hotter climates and one heavy suit made of twill. So some were lighter than others it depended on the buyers preference.

    Suits look great ladies!

We are in Orange County. If you don't hear back from Carole soon, just let me know. I am pretty sure she has an opening and can start ASAP.

    Cheers

    Thanks Dankenman!

For the inseam measurement, please provide the inseam size that you use when purchasing pants. For the waist measurement, please provide the actual measurement around your waist.

    Thanks!

I got mine in the mail today! Looks great. I didn't get to try it on yet, but I will as soon as I get home. Thanks again!

    EDIT:
Fits great, feels a little snug right at the waist, but it shouldn't be baggy right there anyway because the girth and ammo belts go right there, so I am assume it fits correctly. It is awesome, thanks again!
