Krylon Oil Rubbed Bronze Spraypaint for ESB Blaster?

I found Krylon "Oil Rubbed Bronze" spray paint at my local K-Mart. I picked it up (for some household projects) but I wondered if this would be a good topcoat for an ESB blaster. I believe that the original prop was bronze. I was looking on the web for a picture of the can and this was the best I could find. I have a blaster kit comming from Sidewinder and wanted your opintions of how best to paint it up. Thanks!

I just used the "oil rubbed bronze" yesterday for a Clone Wars blaster, because I thought it gave a nice dark metallic look without being pure black. It also let's me add black shading in addition to the highlights. So far, it looks good. I'll post some pictures soon.

The weathering is only half done, just the base and some highlights, but here are a couple shots to show the color.

The ROTJ was bronze, the esb was a real webley. So its gun blue with natural aging.

I may paint one of my kit this color to see how it lookw. A light mist may make it look finished with almost no work.

Oh... That settles it then! I'll try something else. Thanks Sidewinder!

Now where did I get the Bronze idea from? I know I read it here on TDH. I usually save my favorite pages or pages that I use for reference, but I can't seem to find it now.

Cast Bronze Webley replicas have been made in the past by folks on here - 'Handschaub'(?).

I remember seeing a thread about that. It must be where I got the bronze thing from. Thanks again!

Here are some shots of the Oil Rubbed Bronze after weathering (other than some spot touch-ups on screw heads, etc.), and ready for coats of clear satin.

Thanks! It's funny to try to make a "realistic looking" version of something that only exists as CGI, and stylized CGI at that.
