JW Boot Run: UPDATE 26 JULY!

Jango Wes

Well-Known Hunter
My paypal addy is wesclone at aol dot com (dang bots!).
$230 for US buyer
$250 for non US buyers

Make sure to include your screen name and size in the paypal info.
(names in bold are paid, in order of payment received, by size)
**********************************

This is the sign up list. Final price is $230 shipped in the US, $250 outside the US. That will cover paypal fees as well as shipping to me, then shipping to you.

Here's how this will work, so please read:

1: WHOLE SIZES ONLY
2: I know I said half up front in the initial thread, but I would prefer the whole amount, it's just easier to keep up with. If you want on the list and can only afford half now, that's cool, I understand. I AM NOT TAKING MONEY AT THIS TIME.
3. And like last time, it doesn't matter who's first to pay. If you are the first to pay, that doesn't guarantee you will be the first to get your boots. They make these in bunches, and I send the boots out as I get them in. They can send me a box of size 9, then a box of 10 and 11 later. However, if you are the first size 9 to pay, you will be the first size 9 shipped out. I hope that makes sense.
4. Please, only sign up if you are committed to buying the boots. If you pay, then want to pull out, I'm stuck paying for your boots.
5. Any questions, just ask.
6. Oh yeah, to avoid any confusion, the spats and spikes are NOT part of the run. Only the boots.
7. I will close the list at the end of the month. I will start taking payments the beginning of February.
8. Once the list is closed, it's closed. I'll send the total number of boots/sizes and he starts cobbling (right verb?).
9. Also, just so we are clear, the cut off is 31 January. I will take payments until 14 February. I don't want to hold up the run waiting on a couple of people to pay. 2 weeks should be adequate.

With competing boot runs (JW vs CABoots), we're all going to be better off with a bulk order with one supplier. Same question as Sonik... what is the lead time for these boots and the certainty? Thanks.

i've already got a pair of caboots, but due to the comfort issues of them i'm willing to try out a new boot. please mark me down for a pair of 11's.

Usually wear a size 9.5. Will these run big or small? Put me down for a pair Wes....

Peel: I wear a 9.5 and a 9 fit better than a 10. I'd go with 9.
For everyone else: I'm not in a competition with CA Boots. If you want theirs, buy theirs. If you want mine, buy mine. You've seen the both, make a decision and go with it.

Being a newbie, this is a hard choice for me. Could some one please PM with some info on each boot? I need shoes and I'm tore between the 3 options I have. I like the idea of the JW boots because they are made by a guy who actually makes things for movies right? Saint nasty mentioned something about comfort... do caboots not fit too well? Any info would be great!

caboots look about right, but they have very little in the way of support for your feet. between standing in them and the jetpack throwing off your center of balance (and getting uncomfortably hot in the multitude of layers of costume), it takes it toll on you after a few hours and your feet will hate you for a couple days after. i'm hoping that the JW boots provide better padding and arch support; cuz when your feet start to go on a troop your time in costume is coming to an end.

if you feel Arch support or the soles will be an issue guys and gals...just get a size or 2 larger than what you normally wear and throw some insole supports or comfort soles in there.

Good, idea... but it wouldn't work for me. I am short and where a large shoe size, I don't want to look like Boba the Clown :D hehehe Mostly a joke, but it might look weird.. not sure about that one ;)

I've signed on Sonics thread for a pair of CABoots, 'cause I thought they were best 'available' at the moment, but with these on offer I'd like to make an informed decision.

Can anyone post some example pics of the JW Boots please.

Thanks

*Sigh*.
Ok, if you look in my previous thread about my boots, you will find pictures and all available information you seek.
CA Boba boots are nowhere near accurate. I would have to say, mine are around 85-90%. Only MCs are better and you can't find them anymore. Here's a comparison of mine to MCs:

Here's the CA:

As far as fit. DO NOT buy 2 sizes bigger and try to fit inserts, unless you like swimming in them. Get some inserts and trim them to fit.
If you wear a half size, I suggest going down, ie if you wear a 9.5, get a 9 for a snug fit. That worked for me. If you want a little more room, go up.

And being a owner of MCs previously, Wes yours are FAR more accurate without a doubt.
