Jetpack Rocket Base Casting INTEREST

I'm redoing my jet pack after 5 years as I've learned so much since I began the project.

My old scratchbuilt jet pack wasn't really hefty but the fact that it was not completely hollow and I didn't even use what are now my favorite materials so I feel it would be best to redo this and come up with a piece i am truly happy with.

I am making a lot of the pieces from scratch, molding them and putting everything together at the end.

There are a few pieces though, as long as I am making molds, I was curious if anyone would be interested in copies.

The first one I have tackled is the base of the rocket, the one that looks like some sort of gear or bearing.

It is a pain to make this from the WOF plans, even though they are fantastic. It is just a tedious piece.

I'm no master like Bobamaker or MOW so I did my best.

I made one piece out of UHMW and made a mold of it to make all the pieces I need. I then laid them out on a pattern, secured them down and filled in the circle in the middle with an area i confined.

I know it won't be 100% perfect so I am making an initial mold and then cleaning it up for a second master mold.

I will post pics, but if anyone is interested I could make a list, no matter how big or small. Like I said, this probably won't be a clean and nice as some of the pros around here would make. But I think it might help some people out that don't want to make certain pieces themselves.

I know a lot of people out there have just gotten certain parts to replace those they were unhappy with on their offer packs so I thought it might be beneficial to offer these.

Post pictures sometime over the next couple days

Here are some pictures.

I am moderately happy with the castings. I will probably do them again before the end of the project but for now I am going to wait until i redo the entire thing before attempting a second mold of a cleaned up cast.

if anyone is still interested after seeing the pictures I was going to offer these for $7 shipped in the US. They will require cleanup i'm making that clear right now. Silicone picks up every crevice and gap and I suppose i could have originally done a better job filling the gaps before making the mold.

i also should have used a perfect circle to build around in the middle, rather than setting the pieces on my template and filling the middle with the blocked off area.

PM if interested
