Inner hose ????

Hi guys,

I have been looking for any info on the connection of the hoses to the right gauntlet. On the scene in ESB in Slave I (where Fett is following the Falcon) his gauntlet hose appears to have an inner hose that is actually connected to the gauntlet. I was wondering if anyone could point me the right direction on how to accomplish this (if in deed this is the correct way to connect them)

hope that all makes sense

Me again guys and gals

well i have found the pics i was looking for (thanks Gav, aka Moto fett). Notice the way the hose joins the gauntlet at an obscure angle.

So my revised question is....has anyone attempted this set up before and if so how did you do it? I am going to try to get this look but any advise before hand would be appreciated.

Jon I have seen this before *thread* but I cannot recall the outcome... :confused

But if the black inner hose were to go right up to where the clear hose connects under the sleeve then the outer 'clear' stops short of the gauntlet connection, then this would allow the outer to move more freely?

Could be totally wrong...

Oh and Jon.... psst.... come here...

The names Mojo! not Moto (I am not a roadside hotel)

I ended up having a stab at this and this is what i have done. I got some vehicle screen washer pipe (very flexible) and ran it through the outer braided hose. I then drilled a hole into the gauntlet and glued the ineer tube from a pen into the the hole (its the part of the pen that holds the ink). The washer pipe then simply pushes onto the pen tube :)

I now have a similar set up to the ESb scene inside Slave 1 (i think)

Ronin I really like it. Can you post a pic without the tube for see what you have used? Thanks! :cheers

No problems. I will take several pics tonight showing how the whole thing go's together. I tried to look on the ESB yesterday to establish whether this style of connection is used throughout the film, but it is very unclear and the only scene it is clearly visible in is the in this shot.

Oh and i know it should be on ESB and i've got an SE outfit, but what the hell

TK2177 Did this, he used some kind of tiny-metal-articulated-peg-thing (that's the scientific term) To achieve this, so the tube is able to flex as he moves just like that scene. Perhaps you could shoot him a PM?

Mixmastermace - thanks for that buddy :) In my pics it doesn't show it very well but the inner black tube is very flexible and will allow the braided hose to twist to almost any angle (I will get some shots of it at a more accute angle tonight). The inner tube as i mentioned is washer screen pipe from a lorry, its made from very pliable rubber and bends very very easily.

RONIN! It's perfect! Like the movie! Thanks for post the pics :love Seriously, I like it, but I like it a ton :love

thanks for the kind comments guys. As i said earlier though, this was only ESB and only in that scene !!!!! (from what i can see in the films). I don't think the ROTJ was done this way, si i guess i am breaking the cannon rules (hopefully no one will rule this against me in regards to trooping)
