How were these made?

Ok well . . . the duck calls are even more expensive but I've discovered that, as far as I can tell and many of you have suggested, it was most likely made from a recorder "flute".

Well I think I may have found something... looked at the Toys R us site and found these... These may work and quite cheap too? ;)

You can pick those up at your local dollar store for...well...a dollar! I've seen them by the truckloads there...just what Junior needs for Christmas!

That's exactly what I was talking about! That's a recorder! I'm headed out to pick up a couple right now . . . as well as some extra parts to customize the pistols.

Ok well . . . I picked up a couple for a dollar like Ghostsoldier suggested . . . the only thing is, it's ALOT smaller than you would think. I'm gonna play with it since I have two and see if I can't figure something out

Dude...sorry about the size discrepancy...I didn't know they were small...:facepalm...hopefully, you can use them and didn't waste your 2 bucks!
Rob
('course, a REAL recorder costs around 60-75 bucks, I think....)

Lol no worries . . . good news though! It looked small but I just decided to go ahead and start cutting and gluing and it turns out that it's almost perfect! So good deal!

here's a pic (excuse the quality, I took it with my phone.):

I'm thinking I'm going to kinda of turn this into something along the lines of a DL-44 and put a magazine and trigger guard on it. I'm undecided about some type of scope.

Ghost, your stuff always looks awesome.

I went ahead and cut up one of my 30 round magazines . . . check it out:

So what do you think . . . scope or no scope? I don't want people to think I'm making a blatant rip off of the DL-44 but it would probably look pretty decent.

My custom mando will be carrying two of these . . . I can't wait to get this done!

Yeah . . . I think I'm gonna shoot for a custom built scope . . . no need to stop being custom now! I'm going to swing by and pick up some parts to build one out of pvc so I'll post some pics of it later.

Ok, here is the mockup. At this point, I think I'm gonna go without the trigger guard . . . we'll see.

Tell me what you guys think. I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna church up the scope a little too . . . probably just but a couple steel nipples/caps on one side to simulate knobs or something.

I don't know how feasible this is but I'd go with shorter magazines. There are two reasons for my suggesting this: First, you'll have a hard time making holsters for them if they mag is too large. I had a similar problem with making a holster for my E-11c "snubbie". And secondly, a pistol would have a smaller magazine/energy charge then a rifle.

Looks great Styles... ;)
I agree with OR (Jo) if you plan to house this bad boy in a holster then the mag may cause you some issues? just my 2p
Did you use more of those recorders for the sight end piece?

Yeah, the recorders came in a pack of 2. And Orthar, just a heads up, that's MUCH smaller than a rifle mag but yeah, I definitely see there being a problem with a holster.

Now, as far as the scope goes . . . I need a better method of attaching it, one that's more aesthetically pleasing. Do you guys have any ideas?

Would it not be better fitted 'on top' of the blaster? I mean if you were using it and (If right handed) you would be peering to the far side of the weapon? just a thought?
