how much does bobamaker charge for a full screen accurate ESB boba fett costume?

agreed, he won't bite. If you are looking to use his painting service then i think you will be looking at somewhere between £2000 - £2500. It certaiy wouldn't be lees than 2K. This is based on my own experience of placing orders. I haven't done it in one hit but I have used his painting and weathering service and so far I have been very pleased with what he has provided.

Sorry for any spelling errors. Smartphone deployed.

Full suit ready to wear or display out of the box is not going to be cheap at all. You are essentially buying all the parts and then asking for somewhere around 50+ hours of highly skilled labor. I would estimate that Daz would ask for somewhere between $7-10K US. Nathan's quote of $10K, assuming all Fettpride armor parts, probably a BFUK or MOW jetpack, Crazy4bobafett soft parts, the better blasters, and his incredible painting services is not unreasonable by any stretch. At the end of the day, you would have something like this:

...since I have many of the parts he would use and he painted everything but my bucket, blasters, shin tools, and soft parts. But even then, I have some parts that simply are not available anymore or would be specialty orders. I know that eventhough I sold my ROTJ SE without the helmet for about $5K, I would not part with this particular suit for much less than $10K. Too much love and work in it.

Just take a look at his homepage- when you sum up the parts, it's about 1.400 £ without blaster, boots, without any building, painting or weathering...i think it will be much more than 2k £, but just ask him...

That may sound sarcastic but that's not unrealistic for a finished suit.

Agreed. Mine cost about $5k in just parts alone. (Only the helmet is bobamaker, the rest of the armor is Fettpride and MOW) All the man hours and supplies to finish a suit....10K seems pretty reasonable, and like Madmartigan, i would likely not part with my suit for much under the 10K mark.

I sold mine for a steal then. Lol!

so, where would be a good starting point? i was thinking a bobamaker flight suit (weathered), caboots with bobamaker toe spikes (weathered).

You could start out first getting your soft parts ( flightsuit, vest, neck seal ) done since they're made to measure depending on who you talk to. Then move onto the hard parts that could look questionable on you... Like the helmet and armor for your body size and shape. Helmets are different sizes as well as armor. I would do more research here. I don't think you would want to buy everything just to have it look weird on ya. The forums have a lot of good information and references.

i plan on just fitting it to a mannequin as a display piece. so would i have to take the measurements of the mannequin? i want it to be a costume, yet still a display piece.

Your measurements first then you can find a mannequin. There are a couple of ways of making your own mannequin or just buying one for around $100-$200 bucks i think.

hmm...well, in the process of building a boba fett costume i was planning to lose some weight to fit into said costume. that's the main reason i want to get a mannequin before hand, because i know it will take me a few years to get together a accurate costume.

couldn't you get a suit to fit your size as is? You say you want to lose some weight but you can always take your jumpsuit and things to a tailor to get it re-fitted. I'm planning on doing that to my cucblack vest (I need the velcrow strips removed and I believe I need to hem the bottom since it's longer than I need it to be and things like that).

just my 2 cents; I'm the kind of guy who likes to wear what I work on lol.

I have an entire ROTJ suit from DAZ that is scheduled to be delivered at the end of this month (July). I placed my order and down payment of $3,000.00 US in December of last year. The total for EVERYTHING from helmet to shoes with paint and weathering "turn key" was $6,800.00. I will be at Celebration 6 in Orlando if you would like to see it in person...just send me a PM.....
