How many snaps needed to attach the backplate to the vest?

Hey guys..

Just wondering, how would I attach the backplate to the vest using snaps, and how many would I need/where would i need them.

I did a search and the closest i came up with was that only the top was attached at the collar join.. personally id prefer a little more security, and id love to see some pics of peoples rigs.

Just for reference, it will be a Bobamaker kit attaching to it, including the harness and JP.

Hope to see some pretty good examples :D

Oh and btw... no velcro will be going onto this suit for armour attachment... at all... after using it on my current one, ive decided against it.. :p

I will be in the same boat as you soon (not yet as I haven't got my armor and vest yet, but it will be BM too) so answers to this question will be valuable for reference. I also want to steer clear of velcro.

not even to secure it on the bottom in case of excessive movement making it fly out, or support for the top in case of damage due to too much strain on the collar/backplate connection?

well, in my case my backplate is steel, so strain isn't important ;)

but i used to have a plastic backplate and it all went together the same way without issues.

the way i have my jet pack mounted helps a lot with that too. i have the belt with the us divers buckle attached to the jet pack. that goes around my waist and holds the jp and the armor in place securely.

Just make sure the jet pack is secured to your harness and not the back plate or collar. It should hang freely through the back plate slots.

Yup ... that's the trick. So, you either need a light jet pack, or a harness.

I'm the odd one out I guess...same as everyone else with regards to the Collar + Vest, Backplate + Collar BUT, and velcro at the bottom half of the Backplate to the Vest. My JP harness also has 2 extra bottom attachments for JP securement, and to prevent swinging...explains why I could dance the way i did in Taiwan. My setup works great for me. ;)
