I use velco on mine and haven't had any problems. I added some 1/4 inch foam on the inside, which I painted to keep them from rotating.

magnets sounds like a pretty good idea but Ive heard that they can be a little iffy and sometimes will fail and send your gauntlet flying

rare earth magnets is what i used...it would take quite a bit of a thump to release the bond in mine...now if magnets die out over time, then i may have a problem, but have never heard of magnets losing their bond strength...

Re: how do you secure your gauntlets

hey guys i've been searching for some info on keeping your g's in place, this is the most current thing i could find. I'm using velcro with some zip ties as the hing, the hoses in the right gauntlet clip into the sleeve on the jump suit. I'm testing out some foam inside them today, but i can't get them to sit right on my arm and have them stay in place at all....any tips beside putting foam inside them?

mine are foam padded, and stay exactly where i want em. i have hinges on both sides. the inner hinge has the pin removable, so that i can slip it on and off.

    picture is pre-foam.

That's a really awesome idea to just pull the pin out of the hinge!!

Re: how do you secure your gauntlets

Hello there, reciently I purchased the boba fett ESB gauntlets, I making my jango costume but I know that there are diferences in that 2 gauntlets, especially the left because jango have the flametrower and boba ESB have a some kind of mini lasers and not have flametrower.
If somebody can help me with some images references to add the flametrower and make the changes to boba to jango.
AH!! another thing, I saw that boba have is his 2 gauntlets versions, ESB and ROTJ, that the left gauntlets have the keypad........Jango do not have that..........do you reccomend me cut the key pad of the gauntlets that I buyed??
    Thanks.....
    I appreciate any help.................

Re: how do you secure your gauntlets

I have BobaMaker gaunts, and they're velcroed together, but I also went a step further and not only added some foam inside to keep them from rotating, but I have the gauntlets ALSO velcroed to my jumpsuit. I can move my wrist just fine, they stay in place, and if by some chance the velcro on the Gaunts themselves comes loose, each piece is still velcroed to the jumpsuit to prevent an accidental fall or worse...a fling down the block!!

I plan to try and add some additional ways to secure them in the near future as well. Can never be too careful!

Hello DP74, I reccomend you use hinges to unite the gauntlets parts, I think is the best way......... but you have right with the option of velcro inside the gauntlets and jumpsuit to unit.........

Well, I don't want to make major mods to Daz's work, plus if I can secure them from the inside while still keeping the screen accuracy of velcro, it will only add to the overall outfit. The way I feel, the more ways I use to secure things together without detracting from the craftsmanship of Daz's work nor the screen accuracy, the better off I'll be....at least to me. LOL
